Concorso Italiano Tees It Up for 2009
Concorso Italiano is a 24 year tradition during the Monterey classic car weekend, which includes the Pebble Beach Concourse, Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca, and several high-profile auto auctions. Held on golf links in the past, the Concorso moved to the Marin City airport last year where the acres of tarmac inspired little love among attendees and participants. For 2009 the Concorso is heading back to the fairways. This year’s event will be held at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. The Concorso will take place on Friday August 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are available through May 31 for $85 per person. After that, the price increases to $100. Your ticket includes on-site parking. The entry is $125 through May 31 and increases to $175 starting June 1. Entry fees for non-Italian cars are slightly higher. For more information, visit concorso. The world-time dial features 24 different cities in 24 different time zones. The dial is composed of multiple layers of sapphire crystal that rotate accordingly. The main difference between the Spirit model and the 1480 is the color scheme. While last year’s model indicated the nighttime hours by shading the countries in dark blue and the daylight hours countries in light blue. This year the countries during daylight hours are colored in shades of yellow, orange, and green. Additionally, the 43 mm stainless-steel case is a slightly different shape with stepped lugs. 2 OF
