Help with speedmaster
Hello, I am new to the forum. I was looking into buying a speedmaster and the sapphire sandwich looks particularly appealing... Could someone please educate me as to the pros/cons of this model versus the other speedmasters? If this has been discussed previously I apologize
5522A AR Coating?
I received a 5522A a couple weeksago (Love it). But as I just look at it over and over I realized the crystal has a hairline scratch in it. It is so small you can feel it and I am not completely sure it not on the underside of the crystal. I have some Scratch Genie for watches that is supposed to be able to polish sapphire crystal so I though of giving it a try. The only problem is I don't know if there is an AR coating on it. It looks to me like there isn't but the watchmaker at my AD said there was...there is no blue at all in the reflection. I really don't want to send it to Patek to get fixed for 3 or 4 months so I am considering trying this but obviously a little nervous about it. It did come with this slight scratch but most people wouldn't notice it.What are your thoughts?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5712 or PN Daytona??
Incidentally, I do not own a Rolex or PP yet. Future grails of mine would be a 5712 SS and/or a 6263 Daytona. I realize that the PN Daytona would be a long and arduous hunt to find an authentic piece in good condition. Additionally, some of these vintage pieces can be 6 figures, though I would shoot for one in the $40-80k range. The 5712 is well known by you all, and it is a classic Nautilus that I definitely will acquire one day. It will complete the Trinity in my collection (AP 15305OR and VC Overseas and Toledo 1952)Which would you go for first?Sent from my 16M
PAM 111 sighted.... please advise
can you tell me : is it a good buy?its 2003 model, so 11 years old, but just been serviced a couple of months ago.... theyre asking ?3750 (GBP)which is money i dont have - so theyve said they would allow my rolex 114060 as straight trade... (i paid ?4250 for it BNIB and wore it for a year)should/could i look around more/ bater more - or go for it ??ps - that still leaves me a rolex in my hand - so now ill have a PAM and a rolex to swap between, rather than two very similar rolex
