Breva Genie 02 Air Black Watch
Earlier in 2014 we showed you the newest creation by Breva, their Genie 02 Altimeter watch with a hands-on look. It followed up the Genie 01 watches from 2013 that included a barometer. For Baselworld 2014, Breva is adding an additional version of the Genie 02 with the Genie 02 Air produced in a titanium case that has been coated in black and bears slightly different dial and calibration. The Genie 02 is a rather complicated watch given the fact that it has a mechanical altimeter in it. When Breva originally released the Genie 02 they tried to pen it as a watch for use on high mountains while skiing to check your altitude. I figured it made a bit more sense for them to focus on it being an aviation watch. So that is exactly what they did with the Genie 02 Air.Breva needed to rework a few things on the Genie 02 in order to make it suitable as a flying versus skiing watch. Aside from the hip, dark color scheme, the altitude scales have been adjusted for a wider range. The Genie 02 has a s
Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge Watch
Now isn't that pretty?? This is a special Milan Boutique edition of the newer Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin watch. The version with the limited "heritage" dial that is. According to Jaeger-LeCoultre in the 1930's red (among other bright colors) were very popular for wrist watch dials. This model has a bright red lacquered dial. I don't know whether it is limited and if it is only available at the JLC Milan boutique - but it is a looker. This remarkable mechanism incorporates a double barrel and features a special embellishment. The movement is also marked with an individual number. Introduction... and first AP.
Figured I'd officially introduce myself and say Hi to the fellow AP owners. I recently purchased my first AP (a silver dial 15400 from Brian G aka boxerbrian) and absolutely love it. I have owned several Rolexes, probably a dozen Panerais, Omegas, Breitlings, Tudors, UNs, IWCs, GOs, etc etc - mainly hang out on the Dive Watch Connection and buy/sell/trade on there, TZ and Paneristi. I've wanted a Diver ever since they were first introduced but because I love my DSSD on Rubber B so much I decided to fill a gap in my collection and do the 15400 with my first AP. The watch has more finishing details than any other piece I've ever owned with probably a GO Sport Evo Panorama date being second. Everything about the watch screams quality and it's versatile enough for me that I can wear it in my business casual work environment or with jeans. After only a few days of ownership I'm already thinking about my next one if that tells you anything! So, on to the pics! Also, a few after of the rest of
it's been a VERY long time since I saw such a WONDERFULL watch
The more I see it the more I love itThe PAM 519 and 520 are so perfect.Panerai made a watch which could be a vintage Patek. ( not talking about the size because we won't find vintage 45mm patek chronographs) but the combination of dial and case is so perfect.I'm pretty sure these 2 will get a lot of attention and not only from people who love Panerai but people who never thought about buying a PaneraiDon't know how they did it but this is a watch doesn't look like all the other Panerai notwithstanding it has the same case as any other 1940 caseI never thought I would mention Panerai and Patek in one sentence but in this case they deserve it. The movement is absolutely wonderful ( Minerva origin) . But a Patek is still better finishedWOW JUST WOW
