Hublot King Power Knockout World Boxing Council Watch
Boxing seems to be the sport flavor of choice for many watch brands in 2012. You know it is serious when Hublot gets into the game. Their focus now is on a limited edition set for the World Boxing Council (WBC). The game Hublot is playing is pretty interesting actually. Hublot will produce 12 unique King Power "Knockout" WBC watches. As I understand it, each will look unique and be associated with one of 12 "legendary" boxers. Each of the watches will be auctioned off for charity, and the winners will get the watches presented to them by the boxers themselves. It would be more fun if it also included a few round in the ring with them. Tyson is on the list! The 12 legendary fighters associated with the Hublot limited edition boxing watch are as follows:Lennox LewisJulio Cesar ChavezMike TysonSugar Ray LeonardGeorge ForemanMarvelous Marvin HaglerTommy HarnsRoberto DuranOscar de la HoyaEvander HolyfieldJeff FenechLarry HolmesThe King Power chronograph based watch is unique for NOT having a
Growing up a bit (new delivery, AP gold)
After having having used, almost exclusively, stainless steel dive watches for 20 years, the last 12 months I've started exploring a proper dress watch. At the same time, I feel that true dress watches such as ultra thins, too many complications etc are not really for me. I want something that is a bit simple, elegant and a tad sporty, at least a bit water proof to handle an unexpected dip in the water and one that is practical to use. I started looking at gold, e.g. some type of gold version of one of the Rolex watches I've been using for 15 years, but I find them often be a bit too yellow sometimes for my tastes and then I also really like the combo of gold on a leather strap, which further limited my Rolex choices. Before vacation a couple of weeks ago I had the chance to see a AP Royal Oak 15300OR at an AD for the first time and I was smitten by the design, appearance and comfort. It felt much more distinguished and mature than all the various divers I use, even the vintage ones. T
Transocean Chrono vs Zenith Striking 10th
So having tried both watches I'm torn. Both have great history, quality fit and finish In house movements etc. Both watches have good dimensions and love how thin they are for chronos.Initially I might have to give the nod to Zenith for 2 reasons:The incredible chrono movement which is what Zenith does best and the fact that it's less recognized in the states. I see quite a few Breitlings and very few Zeniths.Love to hear what you all think. All the best
DJ41 Jubilee Links... Nobody has them...
Big wrists are a curse for Rolex people. After purchasing a DJ41 w/ jubilee (all stainless 126300), considering adding a link for the hot and humid summer coming up. Nobody has them... The links are unique to the DJ41 so previous model links do not work. eBay, grey market, etc. - None. Rolex AD said 3 week wait to get one with $20 shipping (sourced from Switzerland?). If anyone knows a source (besides AD), would be thankful for a point in the right direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't eat the yellow snow
Just a warning for the weekend. And as one person said; ?Don’t you eat that yellow snow, that’s where the huskies go?. Classic winter weather and a classic untouched, sharp Submariner - with classic proportions.
