My Modern Design Classic Watches Article On AskMen.com
This is a good article to read for anyone who has an interest in design classics as well as a bit of history behind them. Watches are a range of items that have many classic designs. These designs fit into two areas, ones that are classics because they look good, and others because they function well. The best designs do both. I wrote this article as a preview of a new line of books from Phaidon Press, and covered just five of many modern design classic watches that will be featured in the upcoming books. The focus here is not just on watches that have classic designs, but ones that fall into the realm of "modern design" classics. I had to choose carefully, and there were a lot that deserve to be on the list, but visit the link to read about five that easily deserve mention.Read my Modern Design Classic Watches article on AskMenwatches-dealer here. Introducing: The A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon
Welp, it's official. I want a tourbillon. And a big, bad tourbillon. Say hello to the brand new, just announced A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon. It sounds simple enough, right? I mean Lange showed us the updated Dato Perpetual last year, so what's the big deal about adding a tourbillon? Well, this is Lange, and Lange doesn't do anything the easy way – this limited edition block of platinum is anything but ordinary and I'll tell you all about it below. 1 OF 6 The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon is limited to 100 pieces, all in platinum. Essentially what we have here are three high-end complications pieced together. In the case of lesser manufactures, you'll often find such watches with modular construction, placed almost piecemeal on top or next to each other. This is Lange, however, and Lange is better than that. In the case of lesser manufactures, you'll see multi-complication watches with modular construc
Hands-On: With The A. Lange & S?hne Richard Lange Boutique Edition
In March of 2014, I said that there are two directions a new Lange lover typically takes: either towards the Lange One (and its several off-shoots), or the Datograph. Both are great roads to travel, and in that same mini-review, I said that once one has explored the Lange 1 or chronograph category, it's common to head into the uniquely Lange world of the awesome Zeitwerk. But what if you care more for chronometry than complications? Then you head to the Richard Lange. Today, we take a hands-on look at not a new release from Lange, but just one of our favorite pieces in their collection C the Richard Lange Boutique Edition. 2 OF 8 The Richard Lange family is a young one, launched in 2006 as a revival of scientific observation watches. Essentially, the goal was to create the purest, most precise expression of timekeeping possible. They did so with a traditional three-hander, with a large sweeping seconds hand. Here, precision and finishing of the caliber L041.2 movement tra
Is Panerai COMING back?
Lately seems like a lot of people are buying Panerai. Is the brand coming back or people buying because of the steep discounts that can be offered? For a while I was thinking to sell my 389 & 662 that I acquired last year which I've worn 5x.
I only have one concern about the SS skydweller.....
After finally getting to spend some time with the white dial (which I did not buy), i just have one slight concern- Is it a little too dressy? I do wear dress clothes 5 days a week so not a huge deal but the watch did seem pretty busy esp with the fluted bezel. I'm struggling seeing this watch on my wrist while doing a Saturday morning car wash. Would love your thoughts....thx boys!! Btw-I'm waiting for the blue
