First AP forum post. Looking for advice on Canadian AD
Hey everyone. First post in this forum. I am considering the new AP royal oak that was released this year with the panda dial new from AD. Any suggestions for an AD in Canada? Any advice on if a discount is possible to negotiate? I don't think i would be interested at full pop...I am considering this or a Patek 5167 to be specific. Here is a picture of the new steel royal oaks.
Vintage AP Jumbo...what about Gold?
I love the AP jumbo. And since I've now added a modern Nautilus to my collection (5712/1A), I feel that the 15202 might just be a bit too similar in look and styling. I know that many of you own both and I agree that it's a different look, but it's still a steel, blue dialled, Genta watch from the modern era. So I'm thinking of going towards the vintage side of things. Either a 5402, or now my consideration Gold! See the below pic of an available gold 5402 from the second series of gold jumbos. The gold 5402's don't seem to be as much of a price delta as current model steel to gold. I know that the original steel jumbo is THE vintage AP to own. But what about gold? Love the design, love the styling, love the look, I even love the grey dial in this configuration. And for me, a gold watch adds something I won't have in my collection after I sell my IWC Portuguese. What do you diehard Jumbo fans think?
Reg TM on crown protector- Luminor
Good evening chaps. Just wondering on the Luminors, why some models have the markings on the crown protector. My 390 doesn't.
hands getting stuck...
Hi folks,My 1946 Oyster Air King was recently rebuilt and ran great! (Thanks Tommy)A few months later, the innards were loose (likely suffered some vibration in transit back to me). A local shop tightened everything and tuned it up and it was good again. Now (6 months later), the second hand (in sub-second dial) is catching on the hour hand at about 6:40. I recorded a video, but can't post a link as I have not posted enough times in the forums...I am starting to think that I am not supposed to wear this thing daily...Do you wear your vintage Rolex daily?Thoughts?
Size Matters...
Been wearing my Black Bay and Explorer 42mm exclusively for the last couple of weeks. I put on my Daytona last night and wow, now it looks and feels tiny.
