While it wasn't necessarily the very first wristwatch, the Santos-Dumont model is believed to be the first one made specifically for men. The colorful aviator and his exploits helped popularize that style of timepiece, which eventually overtook the more traditional pocketwatch as the preferred timekeeper for both men and women in the 20th century. Since then, the Santos-Dumont watch has been a popular staple of Cartier's men's collection.

Audemars Piguet Water Resistance
Hi all. I popped by the Audemars Piguet boutique today to get a new strap for my beloved AP. I decided to get a complimentary water-resistance test since it doesn't take more than 5 minutes. To my shock and disappointment, my AP ROO ref 26400SO, which was barely 3 month old from an Official AD, did not pass the test. They told me that I should send it in for a service, and anything done to the watch would be FOC as it is under warranty.However, after blowing $46,800 Singapore Dollars on a watch, should I not be expecting quality control better than this? I am frankly a bit upset that this is an issue, and I now have to send it back to AP for 6-8 weeks. Has anyone ever experienced this? What do you guys think about this lack of QC? Is it something that I have a right to be upset about? We are talking about a 3-4 month old watch purchased in July. I need some advice!!

I posted a thread a few weeks back how I finally traded my Daytona for a RO. I had the watch shipped to Santa Fe, where I was getting married, so I didn't have it when I made the thread.I then didn't want to take it on my honeymoon because I didn't want to deal with sand and sunscreen on it. AP ROO diver v Pam 233
Hi, I've been considering getting an AP ROO diver recently and wondered how it compares to a Pam 233 in terms of size and comfort. I own a 233 and it's probably the biggest my wrist could take. I also own a 15300ST which feels great on my wrist, is the lug to lug distance on the diver model much bigger? For reference my wrists are probably just under 6.5 inches.ThanksMike
