A few weeks ago, we gave you a hands-on look at the Piaget 900P, the thinnest mechanical watch in the world. But this isn't the only new watch Piaget is showing at SIHH. The Altiplano Scrimshaw features a dial made from fossilized mammoth ivory that is then engraved with a map of the Eastern Hemisphere using traditional scrimshaw techniques. Each dial takes 65 hours to produce and these watches really are unique little works of art. 2 OF 15 The Altiplano Scrimshaw starts simply enough – a 38mm Altiplano case in either white or pink gold with an in-house 400P ultra-thin calibre. While these are admirable as-is, this watch is all about the special dial. A piece of preserved mammoth ivory (approximately 40,000 years old) is shaped into a dial that comes in around 1.7mm thick. Speedy advice
OK having a decent collection of Rolex and looking to add some variety ive always been intersted in the speedmaster moonwatch, (ive got a PO and cant fault it) Now im not really up to speed(no pun intended) on the models nor the pricing, i like the idea of the plexiglass as a vintage point of view.I went into one of the local AD's last night and got offered one for about $3400usd with the massive omega box(loupe,straps ect...)Is this a decent price or am i paying for packaging... after all you dont wear the box lol! its very cool but its going to live in the cupboard with all the other ones.Should i look for an older second hand pre special packaging? or is this a decent price for this set?just looking for some knowledgeable opinions cheers

Well guys this watch was a long time in the making for me. I have dreamed about joining the PP club for a long time now. To me this brand represents the epitome of haute horology. I have to thank a few good friends for their guidance on this fantastic brand Fremstar, dddrees, kilyung, steelerfan you guys are awesome. I can't leave out puffy and Mosco for their enabling pics :)Without further introduction ....You didn't think I'd do the reveal that easily did you lol :) anyone have a guess ;)

Thinking about a Pam563
I've been thinking about a Pam563.I have almost exclusively dark dials and was looking at a white explorer when WHAM! Out of nowhere this white dialed 8 day appears on my radar. The ExpII just didn't do it for me on the wrist. I think it's the font on the bezel.I'm not a flipper and realize it's (white dials) not a doll of the Paneristi but there's something about it. Classic case shape, manual wind, 8 day, etc, etc. and no ridiculous snap back nonsense. There's not much to see so I don't care either way about a display back.Am I nuts to get a white dial when I don't even have one of the classics?If I did flip it, I probably wouldn't do very well, but I can get it for at least 20% off, so that takes care of some of the depreciation.Any 563 love stories out there?
