Beyond the berWatches: 5 (Possibly) Overlooked Watches from SIHH 2014
At this year’s SIHH, as per usual, the lion’s share of buzz and attention went to a handful of “headliner watches,” or, as we at WatchTime have dubbed them, “berwatches,” even though most of the watch brands each released a dozen or more new products for 2014. And even when a brand doesn’t have what we’d call an berwatch, it sometimes releases one piece so unexpected, off-the-wall, or controversial that it overshadows the rest of its new releases (Exhibit A: Last year’s debut of the first Ralph Lauren tourbillon). Here are some of the interesting watches from SIHH 2014 that may have flown under your radar while you were paying attention to the headliners. What you’ve probably heard about: The Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Mechanica 11 Master Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon, one of the most techologically advanced timepieces at the show, which nabbed the title of world’s thinnest minute repeater. Where to buy Seamaster Master Coaxial Adjustable Clasp
Hi guys,I'm looking to buy the adjustable clasp from the Seamaster MC, but I can't find any for sale on Otto Frei. Does anyone know where I can find one and how much it will cost?I want to put it on my 42mm PO 8500. Can anyone owning a Seamaster MC confirm that the bracelet tapers to 18mm (same as the PO), so that it will fit the standard PO bracelet? I've seen a post where someone has fit the clasp to a PO GMT, but I'm not sure whether that bracelet tapers to 18mm, bc I know it's 21mm at the lugs. Thanks in advance!!
Nautilus with diamond and ruby bezel
I saw these 5711/1R with diamond and ruby baguettes on the bezel at the AD.Are these collector's items for Nautilus lovers or are they just too much jewelry for mens watches? They are both available at over $100K USD each and produced in limited quantity.
Patek vs IWC
Hi guysI wanted to pick your brain a bit regarding my decision of acquiring a PP Nautilus. Over the past couple of months I have been going back and forward between the 5712 steel, 5712R and even 5726. I think that I have it narrowed down to those 3. As you all know, finding a nautilus my AD has is not easy and my AD has them on order. Maybe next week I will see the light and finally be able to try them on before pulling the trigger. Speaking with my AD, I remember almost a year and a half ago that I was obsessed with the IWC portuguese Perpetual Calendar IW502307Description of the watch: IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Watches. 44.2 mm 18K white gold case, sapphire-glass back, ardoise dial, pellaton automatic winding calibre 51613 movement with power reserve display, perpetual calendar with displays for the date, day, month, year in four digits and perpetual moon phase, small hacking seconds, Glucydur?* beryllium alloy balance with high-precision adjustment cam on balance arms, B
114060 How Thin Does it Wear?
This question is for all you thin watch fanatics like me...How thin does the 114060 wear in YOUR experience? After owning an ETA Black Bay for well over a year I'm ready to let it go for a Rolex. Naturally, the watch I'm drawn to most is the 114060. I've tried it on a bunch of times and am seriously considering it. Do any of you feel that it's too tall? I love my Black Bay but my main complaint is that it's all midcase.Bonus question... to those of you who've owned 5 & 6 digit sub nds. Can you tell a difference on case height?Thank you!
