Xemex Concept One Chronograph Watch
It feels like it has been a while since we have seen something totally new from Xemex. The last few years saw increasingly up-market timepieces from Xemex as the Swiss watch market kept getting stronger. We all know what happened recently and this new Concept One Chronograph watch is going to be quite reasonably priced. It does beg the question if Xemex's Ruedi Kulling decided somewhere in the design process that an up-market watch would not have as much market appeal these days, and decides to place a quartz movement inside instead of a mechanical movement. Who knows, but it is a good speculation. The quartz chronograph movement is likely a Ronda, as Xemex has been known to use their movements in the past. The functionality is simple and straight forward, but it is the interesting design direction for Xemex that interests me. The entire watch is focused around the asymmetrical case, with a lot of it leaning toward the pushers. This concept is not new (though it is for Xemex). Asymmetr
Limited Edition Formex DS 2000 Chronograph Makes Perfect 'Shop Watch'
I've talked about Formex watches before, but this model is my favorite. This is the limited edition Formex DS 2000, which means it has a Valjoux 7750 movement and a nice black rotating bezel (as opposed to the silver colored version of the non limited edition quartz model). This handsome technical watch is from a maker of decidedly race inspired timepieces. Built with their customary shock absorber protection device. The watches can usually take some brutal movement and forces.Though one thing I cannot figure out, and perhaps some one can inform me. Why is it that each Formex watch is a "Formex 4 Speed." Yes that sounds pretty cool, but watches don't have speeds, I am not sure what each Formex watch has 4 of, and 4 speed cars are very30 years ago. Regardless, it still have a nice ring to it. Otherwise, you will be impressed by the interesting watch that Formex has to offer. Most of the watches come in both mechanical and quartz movements as well. One of the features you will appreciate
People confusing my watch for a Hublot!!
Anyone else have this happen to them... I've been wearing my new 44mm rose gold Royal Oak Offshore out a lot. I get lots of compliments but people keep confusing it for a Hublot!!! It's so annoying because I hate Hublot and their copycat watches!
Speaking of service ...
We know the service times are long...How often do you think a customer just doesn't have the needed time available to wait the required service times? How often is a customers watch picked up by their next of kin? Was the company slogan of passing it on to the next generation tongue in cheek? Just a thought as I am half way through my service eta.
ROLEX 116622 Steel/Platinum Yacht-Master Blue
i recently admired this watch on a colleague, it seems to be under the radar. Just curious what people think of it?
