Ball Watches For BMW Cars
A few months ago Ball Watches & BMW jointly announced that they would enter into an agreement to produce high-end watches from Ball for BMW. I got to see some prototypes and pictures a few months ago but was not allowed to discuss them until now. The relationship marks yet another watch brand plus car maker looking to make cool timepieces to appeal to both watch and car lovers. Will this be a success?Design-wise these are modest departures from the standard classic and sporty Ball watch fare that we tend to like. I personally am a fan of many, but not all Ball watches. The good news is that each year Ball releases enough new pieces such that there is something fresh and appealing for everyone. The Ball BMW watches are original, but have designs that closely look like a combination of modern IWC Ingenieur pieces and sporty Jaeger-LeCoultre sport watches like the Master Compressor and AMVOX collection. This isn't really an accident given that the pieces are supposed to be sporty, aut
Experience at Chicago Omega Boutique
Went in to purchase a His and Hers pair of Seamaster 300 Blue Dials.Quoted me $4400.00 each.I asked if he could do better so he left to talk to his manager.Came back 5 minutes later and offered a portfolio and Omega pen, no discount!Walked out.Is list price the normal at the boutiques
Anyone know a good restorer (Omega vintage)?
Troops: A friend of mine got burned by a crappy restorer of his 25 year old Sea Master. The restorer was supposed to replace the crystal (only polished it, and not very well.....), was supposed to polish the case (scrathes and nicks everywhere) and to replace the band with a new Omega strap (replaced with a leather strap that has no Omega symbol, and is stamped Made in China. Does anyone have the name of a solid restorer? We're in Eastern Ontario, Canada, but would consider anywhere worldwide if the recommendation is solid. Many thanks all, Chris
Bye Bye 5712?
Hello everyone, this is an update to my 5712 jammed moon phase. I paid around 29,000 USD for my 5712 last year second hand from this reliable seller but won't put his name out, he offered me one 5712 for more than $29K it was around $31k but it had to many scratches and no papers. Then he offered me this 5712 for $29K with the box and papers so i couldn't resist (it was my first Patek) when i had that opportunity. I will soon go and talk to the store that sold me watch and ask for a trade or a refund *fingers crossed* (a full refund), i sent my 5712 to the AD but the cost of sending it there and the period of time it takes for them to send back an estimation is 4 weeks and i can't imagine the price to fix the moon phase. I don't think its worth sending it to get repaired since i would lose either way selling it with a lower price or selling it repaired. So i am not sure what my next watch would be or ill probably just stick to it with a broken moon phase.
389 Review
I only wear Rolex and Panerai and I flip quite often. Panerai ruined me with Rolex as now I can only wear the larger (42mm+) Rolex models as all of the others just look too small. I LOVE THE PAM 389!This watch is so good looking and really sings to me . The 47mm size makes it a real attention getter and the OEM weathered strap is second to none! Panerai has really stepped it up as of late on their OEM straps.
