Royal Oak Winding Question
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice on my first AP, a 15400. I've had the watch for a few weeks now and although I wear it daily, it has stopped running on two occasions already. The manual states that when manually winding it the crown should be turned At least 30 times and the selfwinding movement should take it from there. I had wound it with exactly 30 full turns of the crown and then worn it normally except when I was at work so each day the watch sits still from eight to twelve hours before I get home and put it on again. This routine has always worked fine when my daily wearer was a Rolex but not with the AP. Most recently I returned home from work, put the watch on (still running, time correct) and wore it for a couple hours, then after falling asleep on the couch I found that it had stopped when I woke up. Kind of frustrating. Is it possible that I need to give the crown more revolutions when manually winding to get the full power reserve or did I just end up with a lem
Gone Crazy already
New year and new watches.......... Just come back from my AD with 2 new additions. The Olympic Red Gold and SS Aqua Terra on Blue Alligator strap and the New Planet Ocean Cal 8500 Orange Bezel. Last weekend I went to London with a view to see and buy the new Titanium PO Chrono but was not impressed at all with it. It is SO tall in fact I found it out of proportion and Really did not like the Titanium finish. Whilst in the Boutique though I saw the Olympic Aqua Terra on Blue Alligator with Red Gold bezel and pushes etc and feel in love immediately, I hated to take it off. So I Rushed back to my AD in Bristol this week and purchased these two. The Jury still out on the PO chrono. I dont think I be tempted with this one though, Omega may have ruined a perfect watch. I will post proper photos as soon as I can.
Patek 5227R
today i finally part-exchanged my panerai PAM00421 for a calatrava 5227R. this is actually the closest i want to get to a dress watch. the nice thing is that the 5227 can be dressed up or down (usually i go for the latter:::))). the ivory lacquer dial and the breguet hands are really very very nice, as is the case back, that can be opened to show great reflections. i will retire my nautilus for a while and see how it goes with the 5227R:::)))
Thoughts on the 5164
Hello guys...I had a chance to play around with a 5164 recently and I really loved the GMT feature of the watch! Then all of a sudden I had this crazy idea... trade up from a 5167 to the 5164...Not sure if that's a good idea as the 5167 is such a beautiful and simple watch!Anyways, what are your thoughts? Any one else had a chance to see the 5164 in the flesh? (5164 photos from internet)
Dropped Gmt master 2 ceramic.
I have just dropped my Gmt master 2 ceramic. It has landed on the crown denying the edge of the crown and found it difficult to screw the crown out but managed after some force. The watch is still going ok but the crown is slightly of centre. I have insurance for loss and accidental damage and need to know if the watch would need to be opened to check and replace the crown etc. ThanksKeith.
