Hublot Breaks Ground on Its New Manufacture
To accommodate its continued growth, and to further assist in the verticalization of its watch production, Hublot began construction of a second building that will more than double the surface area of its existing manufacture in Nyon, Switzerland.In a groundbreaking ceremony on March 3, Jean-Claude Biver, chairman of Hublot (and recently named president of the LVMH Group’s Watch Division), and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, turned the first sod with shovels specially engraved for the occasion.This new unit, located right next to the original building, will be dedicated chiefly to the production of components for Hublot manufacture movements and the production of watch cases. The facility will house micro-mechanical workshops, a bank of CNC machines, and workshops devoted to decoration, electroplating, general mechanical and washing, among other disciplines. Since our first GTG six months ago in March 2014, it was the third time this small group of like-minded AP enthusiasts get together for yet another fun day. This time round, we chose the famed Marina Bay Sands (MBS) as our outing location for an obvious reason: a new AP boutique had just been opened for business a week earlier! An appointment was made with AP to visit the new playground! Before the boutique visit, the group settled at a cozy corner of a local coffee joint called Toast Box to catch up with each other. It was a gathering of not only AP watches, but a few other interesting and respectable collections from buddies who are self-proclaimed watch nuts! A galore of nice timepieces were there for generous sharing and admiration. I currently have the strap seen below on my 5524. My 5522 is delayed but coming I am told (needs to have my name on docs, and I was added late). Any suggestions for a cool strap that contrasts what I have or leave it original? Thanks!

Lucky day at the airport (first Rolex)
So, I was walking through Schiphol on Friday, with an hour to kill before my flight home, when I happened upon a 116710LN at the airside Gassan store. It was sitting the the display window (the only SS model they had) and the salesperson said she had just put it out there minutes before.Moments later, it was on my wrist, and I boarded my flight home with a big smile. This is my first Rolex, and as a frequent business traveller, I think the GMT complication will be very useful. Here's a quick picture taken from the lounge. By the way, for those who might be interested in buying a watch from the airport, I paid exactly MSRP minus VAT (which in NL, is 21%), so in this case 7,750 EUR - VAT = 6,404 EUR.
