Why You Need To Know About The Wider Spectrum Of Watches
Each year, watches-dealer publishes between about 750 and 800 articles (perhaps a bit more) on watches and topics related to watch love and appreciation. What people don't see are all the watches we decide not to cover for various reasons. Little in our articles refer to the types of things that we don't cover or why C yet, the reality is that those topics and products are vast. You might want to ask, "why did you title an article referring to the benefit of knowing about a wider spectrum of watch products and the proceed to mention all the stuff you don't write about?" If you thought about that, then it is a good question. I begin this way because I want people to appreciate that the things we cover on watches-dealer involve careful consideration, and not everything makes it. We actually can't cover everything we want to, and the things we do cover don't all represent watches that we want to wear or buy. watches-dealer's editorial coverage attempts to combine the wonderful, the interes
Chivas 12 Made For Gentlemen By Bremont Limited Edition Watches And Gift Tin
England and Scotland certainly had their fair share of global attention over the past few weeks, as the world anxiously followed?Scotland voting about its possible independence from the United Kingdom. With that said, a collaboration of a much different scale?has been in the making as well: English?watch company Bremont has teamed up with renowned blended Scottish whisky Chivas Regal to create a new, "Chivas 12 Made for Gentlemen by Bremont limited edition gift tin." Incorporating the?designs?and signatures?of?Bremont's founding brothers, Nick and Giles English,?this co-operation brings us a new?example of a?luxury watch brand's "blending" with a higher-end?spirits maker C not unlike that between Hublot and Johnnie Walker. This seemingly obvious?partnership is not without its excessive details, however. What brought?Bremont and Chivas into this venture is?an annual series of collaborations?between Chivas and British craftsmen, called "Chivas Made for Gentlemen" C which does make one won
The Horological Society Of New York Introduces Watchmaking 101, A Public Class Sponsored By The HODINKEE Fund
In the 1950s, students at New York City high schools had the opportunity to take a class on watchmaking. This class was taught and the curriculum developed by members of the Horological Society of New York. Today, HSNY and HODINKEE are teaming up to announce Watchmaking 101, a revitalized version of this initiative. 2 OF 63 Watchmaking 101 is a single-session class in which professional watchmakers teach students will learn how a mechanical watch movement works and the fundamentals of using watchmaking tools. In this hands-on class, students will also learn to disassemble and reassemble a mechanical watch movement. 3 OF 63 Previous experience is not required, the class is free, and there is no need to be a member of HSNY. And unlike the 1950s version of this class, you won’t need to be a student at a New York City high school – Watchmaking 101 is open to the public. 4 OF 63 The first Watchmaking 101 class was held on February 16th a

Weighing a Rolex (Part II?) to verify authenticity
While trying to figure out if a 1985 Rolex DateJust (model 16013) with Jubilee bracelet is (1) real and (2) legit, I saw the How much does it weigh? thread here but, alas, it is closed.I'm convinced it is real, based on numerous sites' information about this model/date Rolex. In pursuit of total verification of that I weighed the watch on a kitchen scale that seems to be fairly accurate and got 104 grams across multiple weighings.So...for those of you in the know of such things, does this make sense? The above-mentioned thread has a range of weights for different watches and this SEEMS to be in the ball park; I wasn't able to find a thread (minimal searching) about this particular model's weight.Any feedback w.r.t. this weight is appreciated.
