Antiquorum’s May 10 Geneva sale realized SFr. 6,520,180. Of the 331 lots, 80% were sold, representing 134.62% in value. A Patek Philippe Ref. 1436 (lot 161) brought the highest price of the day. The stainless steel split-seconds chronograph, one of only two stainless steel split-seconds watches known to exist, sold to a European collector for a world-record SFr. 1,244,800 after fierce in room and telephone bidding.Another rare early Patek Philippe split-seconds chronograph retailed by Tiffany (lot 329) brought SFr. 606,000, and a Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 (lot 331), with a unique dial achieved SFr. 696,000. These two pieces are shown below.Other notable Patek Philippe lots included an “Oversized Stainless Steel”, Ref. 570 (lot 157), which sold to an Asian collector for SFr. 60,000, and the Pocket Watch (lot 160) Ref. 605 HU (Heures Universelles) which went to a European aficionado for SFr. 56,400.
