Grand Seiko Anniversary Limited Edition Comes to the U.S. Market
At Baselworld Seiko officially launched three limited edition Grand Seiko timepieces as a part of the brand’s 130th Anniversary Commemorative Collection. All three models house a newly developed mechanical hand-winding movement, and all three will come to the U.S., market, albeit in very small numbers. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. The design of this limited edition pays faithful homage to the now-collectible original Grand Seiko model from 1960.Until last year, Grand Seiko was available only in Japan and a very limited number of retail locations elsewhere, but now enthusiasts in over 20 major countries are discovering Seiko’s finest timepieces. The caliber in these timepieces, 9S64, is entirely new. Like the original 1960 model, it is a mechanical hand-winding movement with excellent timekeeping performance, and the new caliber uses the latest Seiko high technology. Audemars Piguet outdid themselves for 2017 in the ROO collection.
The 2017 SIHH offerings were exceptional and I had to be a part of it.First off, the new 26401RO subtly overtook the old generation. I was in denial since I owned the previous model. The new RO color scheme just works much better when on the wrist. With the black subdials, the dial itself looks less busy and lets the details really shine especially with the rose accents. The old RO was a hit in photos, but on the wrist it was too much going on. Was it worth the premium to upgrade to the new RO? Yes absolutely! If your spending this much money on something, why not spend a bit more instead of settling. The unexpected star of the show is the 26400IO. I purchased both of these timepieces sight unseen. When I arrived the IO SCREAMED at me. Just like any other Royal Oak, PICTURES DONT DO JUSTICE! The bezel works better with this dial than any other 44mm. The markers, screws on the bezel, and the hands POP on this watch like your wearing 3D glassesfort and weight balance is perfect which doesn
Excited its 5711nally arrived... !
Finally got the call late last week! Big thanks to the members on the forum who helped convince me to pull the trigger & buy the 5711 blue dial 'sight unseen'. Big leap of faith and the photos just don't do it justice! My local dealer was a hero getting me bumped up his list a few months ahead of my wedding .. and even gave a 10% discount to retail as a special present! Guess he knows he'll see ALL my business going forward! Thanks for the support guys - glad to finally be part of the club.. my first non-rolex piece! PS - new member alert-- i'll have to figure out how to rotate pictures going forward! sorry!
It is so scary to wear my Rolex in NYC subways!
So to be safe, I wear my Patek 3970P and 3970J. What about you guys? Which part of your city or which country makes you feel unsafe wearing your Rolex?
