N.O.A Watches At Baselworld 2010
An underdog watch brand that I really like is N.O.A. Funny how Americans says the letters out (as it is actually an acronym) for "none of the above," but in Europe they seem to say it like it is a word. I met with N.O.A ("NOA") in Baselworld to check out their pieces and was really impressed. The presence the watches have is really interesting, and they are very comfortable to wear. Some of them are going to be an acquired taste, but few can say that they aren't pretty pieces. I have been especially interested in some of their more sporty pieces such as the Scyllis diver, and the prototype of their new Skandar watch (seen at the bottom here). These are just a sampling of their new pieces.NOA watches are very bold but fresh feeling in their design. The men's and women's models have a grace to them that isn't common in many avant garde watches. Chalk it up to good design and an attention for detail and fine materials. Omega Restoration In Bienne
I recently bought an old Seamaster (case reference 166.042) which I decided would be a good candidate for a restoration by Omega in Bienne. The dial - which is one of the reasons I liked the watch - has some issues, and so the watch needs more than just a polishing and a cleaning. A true craftsman will need to restore the dial, or better yet maybe Omega has a spare original dial laying around to replace the dial. :) Here are some before pictures showing the dial (since that is the area that I think needs the most work):The movement seems to keeping good time, so it is mostly (I hope) a matter of restoring the dial, polishing the case, and making it look good as new. After going through the process of finding out the what, how etc. for sending a watch to Omega in Switzerland, I thought I would post a thread, show the before pictures and update the thread as the process moves along.Ultimately I hope to post the after photos as well.I started by sending an email to Omega customer serv
Pam 000 on rubber b?
Anyone using a rubber b strap on their Panerai? I have had them on my other watches with success but am wondering how they fit and feel on Panerais? I like the comfort of the stock rubber strap but am really not into the OP writing on it, so any alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
