Seiko Astron GPS Solar Chronograph Limited Edition Watches
When it comes to quartz-driven watches that maintain accuracy via some sort of outside reference input, you have traditionally been limited to watches that receive atomic timekeeping signals from observatories around the world. That changed in 2012, with Seiko hooking their watches up to GPS satellites. Two years down the road, we now have a new limited edition Seiko Astron GPS Solar Chronograph?in a "his and her's" design configuration.Debuted at Baselworld 2014, Seiko released a new movement for the Astron. Many times, when we talk about a new movement, we focus on the mechanical side of the house, as those (traditionally) hold the most interest C but that is not to say that quartz movements cannot offer interesting developments. The Astron was an extremely important and highly impressive step forward, and now,?Seiko actually managed to downsize it with their new 8X82 caliber, all the while increasing ease of use (in particular, time zone switching). The size reduction is due mostly
Introducing The Lange 1 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, Celebrating Lange's 20th Anniversary
Twenty years ago today, A. Lange & S?hne made history for the second time. Almost a half-century after their appropriation, the Berlin Wall collapsed, and Walter Lange slowly began to turn the deserted halls of the Glashtte manufacture into a hallmark of excellence and admiration. Actually, the word "slowly" does a disservice to this horological tour de force. It wasn't slow at all. It was fast. To borrow a few words from Walter Lange, "there is something one should expect not only of a watch, but also of oneself. Never stand still." That's excellence if you've ever heard it.As readers and fans, you know what we mean. We've rarely published a Lange release without praiseful commentary pouring in. Everything from "they've dropped the mic again" to "time to rethink the trinity." Who could argue with such ovation? Is there a more recognizable dial than the one with an outsized date? Find me a watch-lover whose pupils don't dilate at the sight of untreated German silver. And before in-hou

How does 5167 look on a larger wrist...7 3/4"?
I had the next watch purchase narrowed to an AP ROO Black Theme or a Patek Philippe 5167A-001. Thanks to all of the PP enablers' pics, I'm 99% certain that 5167 is the right choice. Unfortunately, my AD doesn't have any 5167s in stock to try on. I do have a slightly larger 7 3/4 wrist. Anyone with similar size wrist that can share your experience and wrist shot pics?Thank you.
Rolex Service sends a nice kit to send your watch
I called Rolex Service NY on Tuesday to request a kit to send my watch in for service. After a 5 minute hold, I just provided my mailing address. Today I received the kit.The box came in a Tyvek envelope:Inside was a box containing mailing supplies....brown tape, USPS Registered mail sticker and form, a return label with Rolex address pre-printed, and an instruction pamphlet:Underneath all the mailing supplies is a thick foam layer to place the watch being returned:The mailing instructions contain a form to fill out to return with the watch:The foam has a round section that separates from the base. The watch goes around the foam and then sits well protected inside the foam layer:The box has gummed flaps that are used to seal the box up once closed....nice touch:My watch is now sealed up and ready for registered mail service. I would say this is a much better setup than anything I would have put together to send in a watch for service. The kit took 3 days to get to me, cost me nothing
