Turtle vs Turtle: Looking at the 6309 and the SRP77x's
The 6309-7040 is undoubtedly one of Seiko's most iconic divers. Manufactured by the brand from 1976 to 1988, the 6309 was the bedrock of Seiko's recreational diver collection for approximately 12 years. Amongst Seiko fanatics, it remains one of the firm's most popular pieces. So when Seiko first announced the SRP77x, the brand's reissue of the 6309-7040, we knew it had the potential to be a huge hit. In our view, its success would ultimately hinge on Seiko producing a faithful reinterpretation of the beloved diver, keeping the general feel and look of the 6309 while retaining the solid bang-for-your-buck build quality that Seiko is known for.As it turns out, Seiko did not disappoint (read our review here). Incoming Omega 2254
Here is my story ... sad but true ... hahaMy first luxury watch was Omega SMP Blue Bond ... when i got my first Rolex Sub Date ... my best friend confiscated my Omega. He is wearing it now and will only return it when he gets his first Rolex which probably wont be for a while. One of my favorite things about having an Omega was the bragging rights of saying Omeeeeeeeeega as in Casino Royale movie. So i had to get another one. Omega 2254 was my choice, should have one incoming tomorrow. Here is a pic of my old Omeeeeeeega with the Rolex Sub Date.
Production Year?
Is there anyway to tell what year your movement/case was produced? I know Patek has the information in their books..and will give it to you for CHF 100...Obviously you can narrow the years down to when they made a watch, and any changes within line, but is there a way to figure out the birthday of your watch without payig for the history of the watch?I couldn't find an answer from a quick search.Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend
