Introducing: The MB&F Arachnophobia, A Clock That Will Give 3.5 To 6.1 Percent Of You The Major
MB&F is nothing if not iconoclastic in its approach to everything fromwell, to everything, and this time they've come up with a clock that is guaranteed to not be bought by a sizeable fraction of the general population (that's right, adjusted for where you live, 3.1 to 6.5 percent of the general population suffers from flat out arachnophobia – irrational fear of spiders – and while a lot of the rest of us don't, we still prefer as a rule to keep our distance). It's the Arachnophobia, which is – well, there's no way to sugarcoat it, this is a clock in the shape of a giant spider. A giant spider with long, spiky legs. A clock, we repeat, in the shape of a monstrous arachnid that bears more than a little resemblance to the final form of the Other Mother in Coraline. (Seriously, though, don't click on the link if you don't like monstrous demonic soul-eaters in the shape of spiders. Did you click on the link? Now see, that's why we told
Aquanaut second hand material?
Hello everyone at TRF! I wanted to post a quick question to all the Patek experts out here. I was just curious if anyone happens to know what material the second hand on the 5167 Aquanaut is made from? As you can see from the attached picture, it is beautifully bright white but has no luminescence to it at all. Could it be white gold that has been whitened for this effect? It almost looks like plastic, but surely Patek would not dream of using that material in a $20,000 timepiece! Any answers would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Tried on a couple of Panerai's
Was near Harrods so i decided to pop in to try a 233 as am considering this as my next piece when the time comes. Unfortunately they only had the 270..tried it on anyway but prefer the dial on the 233 without the 9. Also like the Dot dial the best compared to the am/pm but would be happy with either if the price is right. Tried on a 305 which i also like but it is a beast and the AP Diver which is a long term project! I know they look big on the wrist but thats the beauty of Panerai right??? Or do they look ridiculous?
Rolex, Dinner and a Show
Last week I had a wonderful meal at one of the Fortnum and Mason restaurants, 45 Jermyn St, just behind the store. We had the Beef Wellington which was so delicious, the chateaubriand beef was just melt in the mouth and the pastry was excellent. We also had our peppercorn sauce flambed tableside, quite spectacular. We also bought some goodies, including a delicious Bothy Pie, a pork pie with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and topped with caramelised onions. All highly recommended, esp with a nice cup of Darjeeling or Smoky Earl Grey. My LVc also matched their greenish colours.
Add SD43 or Redundant? Pics included
Thinking about adding an SD43 to this mix. Whatcha think. Too redundant? Would be paying a premium but not a crazy one. At this price a skydweller is pretty close as well. I'm more concerned with loss on resale as I cannot try any of these pieces on before I buy them, so i dont want to get waxed should i not like it and have to resell.Advice welcome, thanks
