Introducing: The Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire
Just when you thought Hublot couldn't get any crazier, they go ahead and release a clear watch. That's right, CLEAR. The Big Bang Unico Sapphire automatic flyback chronograph is the first new release in anticipation of Baselworld. If this is just a pre-release, then I can't imagine what the brand will have to present in March. 1 OF 2 So first things first, what is this thing made of? Believe it or not, it is made of none other than sapphire crystal. Hublot has managed to take the same stuff used to make transparent case backs and molds it into actual Big Bang cases. This was no easy feat. The case middle, bezel, and case back were all cut out of blocks of sapphire crystal, which is scratch resistant and is almost as hard as diamonds. Titanium was used for smaller elements, including the screws, crown (additionally molded with silicon), and the deployant buckle. Overall the watch measures 45 mm in diameter. 2 OF 2 The skeletonized dial is made of
Question about Straps for 15202
Hi all,Been getting a bit crazy with APs lately and wanted to know if there are any strap options for the 15202... I tried calling AP about it but it doesnt look like there are plots for the watch... Im willing to put on the plots from the 15300 or 15400 if they fit but those might only be in WG or Plat... expensive option but will consider it.The other option is go to AP bands as they have a conversion kit for 15400s, 15300s and 15202s... has anyone had experience with these? If I do get the plots from AP bands as it might be my only option, would you know any AP OEM straps that fit? Such as straps from he 15300? Thanks a lot guys, any help is appreciated.Best,Brian
Sadly my longtime favorite dealer is hanging it up
Jim at Continental Jewelers in Washington, DC, has decided to close out his watch business. As many of you recall, Jim's leased location was demolished for new construction several years ago. Because of his age (he will be 83 in October) and Omega's move from ADs to boutiques, Jim decided not to go with the expense of a new show room which meant losing his AD status with Omega. He has been able to continue business as usual but now due to his wife's illness, his intent is to be closed down by the end of the year. He has a couple of hundred watches that he needs to move so if you are looking for a new one, now is the time to give Jim a call.Jim asked me to thank all of his customers and forum friends for their prayers and support.
5980 question
Does the 5980 have a moving second hand within the chrono dial or only the large hand when used as a chronograph?
To everyone that has dealt with PASC
Been reading more and more horror stories about PASC and it is honestly starting to get to me... I currently have 5 PAMs (including one that belongs to my wife) and I've been fortunate so far that I haven't had to send any of them in for service yet. I'm almost dreading the day that comes... Just wanted to do an informal poll here to see what the experience with PASC has been for the people that have had work done by them.
