Baselworld 2015: Ulysse Nardin Hannibal Minute Repeater (Updated with Live Photo and Price)
Ulysse Nardin has launched the Hannibal Minute Repeater at Baselworld 2015. The watch combines Ulysse Nardin's classic use of jaquemarts with a Westminster carillon, a tourbillon, and a distinctive dial material. Let's take a look. For those who are wondering, a jaquemart is an automaton used in conjunction with a hammer to strike the time on a bell or gong. Jaquemarts are not exclusive to watch designs, and have been made at least since the heyday of automata in the 18th century. Ulysse Nardin has made a practice of designing jaquemarts for its minute repeaters. The Hannibal Minute Repeater employs manufacture caliber UN-78. It runs in 36 jewels; its power reserve is approximately 70 hours. This manually wound tourbillon movement is the brand's go-to caliber for the Minute Repeater Westminster Carillon Tourbillon Jaquemarts collection. Previous models in the family include the Genghis Khan watch and the Alexander the Great watch. One particularly unusual feature of the Hannibal watch is

is this really try of nautilaus owners?
Was looking at the entry level models of Patel and really don't believe owners get bored of such a beautiful watch. Let me know what you guys think.watchflipr/buyers-guide/b...teel-nautilus/
Which would you buy? Near NOS or newer movement?
Question for the group. You have two different versions of an Explorer II 16570 to choose from, which would you buy:- 16570 D serial that looks almost as if it's NOS, still has hologram, box, no card. Watch was bought as a gift and then never worn according to original owner. No polishing whatsoever. Watch is from a local dealer with whom you already have a relationship and trust. Watch legitimately looks brand spanking new. 16570 M serial with the 3186, has signs of wear and lightly polished, bracelet has some wear, bezel not perfect with small minuscule dings, from trusted forum seller for about $400 more. Box and papers. You have no intention of reselling or flipping.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did Rolex make RED dials?
Hello, first post here! Can you experts please tell me if Rolex ever produced a factory red dialed variation of the Datejust.... or any other watch?I have searched and searched and it seems that 95% of Red Dialed Datejust's are clearly custom, aftermarket, painted, etc. Then there is the matter of the Vignette version which confuses me because Rolex most certainly made a Red Vignette... for Ladies Datejust. But for the Men's vignette's it seems a lot of those are custom still, perhaps with only a few authentic's in there but I really can't tell!I thought there was a red 41mm version but the more I looked it seems like those are all fake dials too.Does anybody know for sure if there is a REAL red dialed Rolex? The reason I ask is because my very first watch as a boy had a red dial and I would love to pay homage to it with a Rolex.I sincerely thank anyone for their input.
