Fiona Krger Memento Mori Skull Watch
There are skull watches and then there are skull watches like this. Looking like a Mexican "Day of the Dead special" (Dia de Los Muertos), this mechanical skull-shaped watch is full of personality and design talent. Right now it is a one-of-a-kind watch, but there are plans for production in the near future. The watch was designed by Fiona Krger while she was a design student at the ECAL school in Switzerland (University of art and design Lausanne). Apparently I need to credit both her and the school as she designed the watch while there."Memento Mori" isn't a name that hasn't been used before, but a design like this is cool and unique. The watch case is literally shaped like a skull. This one has been hand-engraved in solid sterling silver (also the crown). Not sure of the size, but it does not look too small or too large. Interesting touches include the traditional style blued-steel hands and aviator style crown. That combo looks inspired from Peter Speake Marin if you ask me.The di
Hands-On: The Patek Philippe Reference 5930G World Time Chronograph (Live Pics + Thoughts)
Patek Philippe's biggest announcement at Baselworld 2016 was a new world time chronograph: the reference 5930. We had a chance to spend some time with it in the hand, and on the wrist, and we've formulated some first impressions of this new flagship complicated watch from one of the world's most famous, and most intensely scrutinized, luxury watch companies. 1 OF 7 We've already talked a bit about the history of the movement in the new reference 5930, so we'll just recap briefly: the base caliber is the self-winding chronograph caliber CH 28-520, which was first used by Patek Philippe in the annual calendar chronograph 5960P (P for platinum) in 2006. This was Patek's first ever in-house self-winding chronograph, and the base movement, according to Patek, is 33 mm x 4.9 mm (that is, the chronograph mechanism alone, absent the annual calendar plate). The addition of the world time complication module in the 5930 brings the total thickness of the move
Audemars Piguet Diver vs. Rolex Milgauss Z Blue
I know both watches look and feel very differently but as someone who owns a 15400, would you rather choose a Milgauss Z Blue or the Diver as a next watch?
ROO FC 26400 / ROO Ceramic 26402 or ROO SS 44mm 26400
Hi TRF's looking at a few options on my next purchase i already own a submariner 116610ln and i would like to add a ap as my next collection, so i narrowed it down to these 3 options would be great if i have some question answered and some input on these watches.I have not seen these pieces in person and i will when i travel to the nearest boutique . I prefer the 44mm models as compared to the 42mm with the rubber pusher ,it just dont appeal to me that much because of the dial and rubber chrono pushers i preffer the styling of the 44mm my question are as follows:1) how do they wear on a 6.5 -7inch wrist, i dont think a have a large wrist (4links on the 6oclock and 5and a half links on 12 oclock on my submariner)2) how durable are the forged carbon and the ceramic ? in terms of scratches knocks and dings, I am a very very clumbsy person as i frequently knock on my watches.3) is it worth that amount of $$ around 30,000usd for the FC and Ceramic on chrono24 as this is my frist time buyin
New Breitling
So far, this is my favorite watch yet. It is the Avenger II Seawolf. The size is perfect on my 8.5 wrist. I flipping love it.20170309_184245 by Jon, on Flickr
