Top 10 Watches At SIHH 2014
The watches-dealer team has just returned from the 2014 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie watch trade show in Geneva - otherwise known as the SIHH. If you aren't already aware of what this show is about; it is one of a few major watch trade events each year where new products are debuted. SIHH is operated by the Richemont Group and a few other participating brands. There are about 16 brands that show there. The other major Swiss watch trade show is Baselworld that happens later in the year around March - and a lot more brands present there. SIHH is an important event and helps us understand what some of the major luxury brands are doing, and what their focus will be for this year and beyond.While we saw and photographed many new and amazing watches, there are a few that stood out as the top timepieces. I got the call today from my AD. The 7041r I've been planning to get for my wife arrived. Left work early and brought it home. She's been infatuated with it for a few years now. It's such an elegant, timeless, and understated look. Very happy I was able to get it for her!

Explorer 214270 (Newer vs. Old?)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to add an Explorer 214270 to my collection and looking to get peoples thoughts. I love the watch, but I go back and forth as to which version of the reference I want. (The earlier one seems to go for a little less $ pre-owned). I have no plans on selling the watch anytime soon, nor do I view it as an investment, but I'm curious if you guys think the non lume version may one day be sought as a rarer collectable piece? or will it be like some of the transitional references that don't really see a premium?I know I don't have a bad choice here, just curious others thoughts on the matter.Thanks!

This topic or thread will be base on total conjecture but I often wonder how many times any particular used Rolex was flipped, sold, traded and made it's way around the globe.No doubt if some of the Rolexes could talk, there would be some very interesting stories.Basing this on the amount of different watches I've bought and sold in different locations of the world.
