Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal Limited Edition
Omega has announced the launch of the Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal in a limited edition of 1948 pieces, in honor of the year the Seamaster was launched. The watch features a ceramic bezel with the numbers and scale made from Liquidmetal, an alloy created by Swatch Group researchers collaborating with Omega’s product development team. Liquidmetal is an amorphous metal C a metallic material with a disordered, non-crystalline atomic structure. Its fusion temperature is half that of conventional titanium alloys but when it is cooled, its hardness is three times as great as that of stainless steel. Its amorphous structure allows it to bond seamlessly with the ceramic bezel. The Liquidmetal is a bulk metallic glass alloy consisting of five elements: zirconium, titanium, copper, nickel and beryllium. Victorinox Officers Day Date Review
Victorinox is a household name in more ways than one. If you're like me, your first encounter with them was actually in the form one of their many, iconic Swiss Army Knives. Somewhere in adolescence, every boy ends up with (at least) one of those little red handled folding knives with a scissor, file, blade, toothpick and tweezer. At a certain point, one usually acquires a larger version with saw, corkscrew, and more, that likely makes its home in your garage, kitchen, camping gear, etc. They are practical tools that are easy to find an application for.Victorinox's products hardly stop there, ranging from travel gear to, oddly enough, fragrances. But, if you're reading worn&wound, you likely already know that their other iconic product is their line of watches. With classic, military inspired designs, the Victorinox watches are easy on the eyes and often on the wallet. With prices ranging from a couple hundred for a simple quartz to a couple of thousand for a mechanical chronograph
Don't go with Titanium!
Hi all,I was in Hong Kong last week and went to an AP AD whilst in town to compare prices with London. When in the boutique, I noticed the Titanium Themes (26170TI.OO.1000TI.01) and immediately asked if I could try the watch on.I've read elsewhere that no one does a grey dial like AP, and based on my experience with this watch in person I wouldn't be bold enough to disagree. As expected for the case/bracelet material, it was phenomenally light for its imposing size - I'm still undecided as to whether this lightness is a good thing though! (I like the idea of feeling like you are wearing a watch!)I didn't purchase the watch whilst in HK, however am seriously considering sourcing a top notch pre-owned model from somewhere in the globe... maybe even using my newly-purchased DSSD to part fund (buying two watches of that calibre in the space of a few months is probably not the wisest of choices, I figure)...What do any/all you ROO lovers think of the grey dial and Titanium case/bracelet?I l
