Apollo 11 platinum version
HelloDoes anyone have one of the platinum Speedmasters with the gold badge on the dial?I think the watch was to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission and there was just about 69 made. I would really like to see one of these. Thanks
why is it so hard to find a good PO 2200.50 at a reasonable price?
Been looking to buy pre-owned Omega PO 2200.50 XL 45.5m but so hard to find one for a decent price and great quality for $2500? Am I setting my price expectations too low?First timer user of this forum. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Michael
3293 and 3796 -- size and appearance? (5196 too)
Hi all,Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been researching Calatravas recently, and am getting interested in three models in particular -- the 5196, 3796, and 3923. But before I take the plunge, I want to get a feel for how they fit. I plan on trying on a 5196 in an AD soon, but wanted to ask if anyone here can comment on the size of the 3796 and/or the 3293, particularly with how they wear on the wrist. My collection is mostly Rolex and Omega, between 34 (vintage) and 42mm, so I'm used to more contemporarily-sized pieces. For what it's worth, I have a 6.5 wrist. Basically, I'm wondering how either the 3796 or 3293 would look, if they come across as very small, or wear larger than they are. Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some input!
5711 as a full-time, all-day, everyday wearer?
Good day everyone,I've been struggling lately about a decision between a 5711 and a DD40 YG silver/roman.Truth is I prefer the 5711 but it's important to me to be able to wear a watch all-day, everyday, all the time. The DD40 is probably more durable etc (although the WR of the 5711 is 120m v. the DD40 is 100m).I'm a one-watch guy (except I wear a BR 03-92 on strap mostly in the winter).I wear a TT ceramic sub at the moment (which i'm going to trade). I sleep with it, shower with it, splash around at the beach, take it in the pool, wear it to yoga, etc. I wouldn't obviously re-pave the driveway wearing my sub (or any watch). What do you all think? Would I be expecting too much from the 5711? Is it too fragile? Am I putting the 5711 in too much danger of needing service (which I understand could take upwards of a year)? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.Mike
Pam 000 / 111?
I'm sure that this question has been asked before countless times before, but I'm in that position right now, and I'm having some trouble trying to decide between the two. I love the OP logo on the 000, but prefer the sandwich dial on the 111. I personally don't need a clear caseback, but it would be a plus since I recently purchased a macro lens, and the 111 would allow me to attempt some detailed shots. Anyone have any thoughts/comments on this? Or any suggestions? I'm looking to buy a used one, as this will be a transitional watch as I aim for my grail.
