Arnold & Son Royal TES Tourbillon With A Sapphire Twist
We have said this before and will say it again: the tourbillon, as visually arresting and technically challenging of a complication as it is, over the course of the last decade or so, has become more and more?widely available, with just about any and all higher-end brands?featuring it in their portfolios. The?Arnold & Son Royal TES Tourbillon manages to spice things up just enough to render?the "whirlwind" in watchmaking?more?refreshing and fascinating, all the?while?leaving this?over 2-century-old invention nearly perfectly intact. So how?does Arnold & Son's achievement justify this potentially controversial assertion? First, let's see where the Arnold & Son Royal TES Tourbillon watch remains business as usual.?As far as actual performance is concerned,?this 2014 novelty?features the more ubiquitous?1-minute tourbillon, in this case, operating at 3 Hertz, or 21,600 vibrations per hour. And while that is slightly above the 18 thousand beats per hour standard of tourbillons,
Seagull 1963 42mm Panda Dial Review
The original reissue of the Seagull 1963 was and still is a big success. Great looks, an intriguing history and a price no one could scoff at ensured this. We took an in-depth look at the original 38mm version some months ago and were charmed by it's unique vintage character. The gold-tone dial, gold applied markers and blued-steel hands gave it a unique character that while stemming from military design had an elegance that made it versatile and altogether stylish. And of course, the ST19 manual column wheel chronograph movement inside gave it a mechanical prowess that sealed the deal. Since we already covered it once, I don't plan on rewriting the story of the 1963 here, so take a look at the first article to get some background. To follow up the success of the original, Seagull has released a new series of larger, 42mm versions. Additionally, they added 2 new color variations to add yet another layer of options. While the larger size was likely a response to the general trend for wat
AP Diver 15710 white dial
Just got my first AP diver watch. I was planning on getting a black dial, but the white one really caught my eyes. Love the contrast between the dial and the surrounding darker colors.
Playing with my Camera and my ROO
Just a few shots of my ROO 25721ST. Please excuse the big scratches on the bezel but this is almost a daily wearer and I enjoy the hell out of it. IMHO watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed. While I am extremely careful with my watches, sometimes nicks and scratches are unavoidable.
A day at the Patek Philippe Geneva Salon...
Just returned from my trip from Geneva where I had a fantastic time in the amazing city of Geneva and off course a visit to the Salon where it all started for this unique and amazing brand that we all love..I have to say I was treated like royalty from the moment I walked in, maybe because I was sporting my PP5712 on the wrist which I dont wear on my trips as my vintage GMT usually gets that pleasure.. BUT on a trip to Geneva I had to wear something Patek right?? They had all the pieces from the PP collection but most where samples but my main interest was the World timers and off course my grail the 5131R. It was the first time I tried the piece on my wrist and to be honest I love it even more now as impossible as it is to get. Also tried the new WT the 5930G which now has become my alternative to the 5131R to the point I have put my name down for one.. Its a stunning piece which looks so much nicer in person and feels great on the wrist with its 39.5mm case. None have been delivered
