SIHH Sneak Preview: Baume & Mercier’s New Clifton Men’s Collection
Baume & Mercier has announced it will be launching a new line of men’s watches, called Clifton, at the SIHH watch fair in Geneva this coming January. We’ve obtained some info and photos of some of the new watches, whose design is inspired by a vintage 1950s Baume & Mercier watch. The Clifton collection is, according to Baume & Mercier, an evolution of the brand’s old Classima line. The watches have round cases and a look the company calls “contemporary and modern,” which includes a distinctive double-beveled design for the case. The watches are available with either stainless steel or 18k rose gold cases and alligator leather straps. Prices for the models will range from $2,700 to $6,300; Baume & Mercier says they will be in stores (and available online) in April 2013.Below are photos of the three models for which the brand has released information. Horrible experience with AP and service centre - advice sought
Hi all, Am very upset with my experience so far, but will try to organise my post in an objective manner, as I am looking on advice on how I may proceed if things don't turn out well. Posted this on TZ as well, but decided to post here too as I welcome different persepectives.I bought an AP ROO Panda some time ago brand new, and about a week or so after found that the power reserve was clearly lacking, stopping after less than 12 hours (I posted about this previously as well). I brought it to the service centre in my country Singapore, and was subsequently told that the lubricating oil had dried up, and this would require an 8 week service period. I noticed on forum searches that this was a pretty common issue, so no matter, allowed the service period and patiently awaited its return. I was then informed yesterday that the watch was ready for collection, about 8 weeks from the time I sent it in. Went back, collected the piece, it looked fine, and proceeded to wear the watch last night.

They are sponsoring Nat Geo's Cosmos series. It is really well done - ending with a Speedmaster Co-Axial 9300 Ceramic closeup. Most excellent!
PROPER INTRO WITH PICS - of some my OMEGA faves
Greetings Gents: I have collected since 1995, and though am currently in the Netherlands (as a result of my dual Citizenship I frequently travel back to the US) - I have gone through many phases, but mainly Omega and Rolex, as well as various 1950s-80s historically significant divers. Some obscure divers as well from: ZRC Etanche Grands Fonds ca. 1960 (6 o'clock crown & Nr. NOS), Aquastar ca. 1962 (Deepstar GEN 1: VJ 23 MINT, GEN 1 Aquastar Benthos 500 Nr. MINT) Aquastar Regatta NEWPORT ca. 1980 (Lemania mov't, TRUE NOS), LIP Nautic - Militar 1940s (MUSEUM QUALITY on original leather band, incredible speciman) LIP Nautic Ski ca. 1965 (electric R 184, dual crown, compressor, MINT), EPSA compressor cased watches of various types, Alsta watches, yep the Jaws movie watches etc... and even transitional Heuer-Tag Heuer ca. 1985 ref 510.501 PVD Chronographs with Lemania's celebrated 5100 (Nr. MINT), ZENITH Defy Gauss ca. 1971 ( MINT, 1/2000, screw-down crown, 200m WR, exact spec to Role
