Introducing The Piaget Altiplano 38mm Skeleton 1200S For Only Watch 2013
Piaget has really struck on something with the Altiplano Skeleton, managing to create the world's thinnest (5.34mm) automatic openworked watch in a way that is both delicate and masculine. For Only Watch 2013the 5th edition of the biennial charity auction for Duchenne muscular dystrophyPiaget will be offering up a unique Altiplano Skeleton that has been given a black PVD finish to highlight the watch's darker side. 2 OF 4 The Original Altiplano Skeleton for Only Watch 2011 While the Altiplano has been a Piaget mainstay for some time now, interestingly, the company's first stab at skeletonizing the Altiplano was also an Only Watch. Offered up in the 2011 auction, the first Altiplano skeleton was also PVD treated, though as you would expect from the first skeleton in the line, it was a very different watch - you can see our hands-on look at the original here.?Since then, the company has refined the movement significantly and the white gold incarnation has become one
Christmas present and a question
Here is the Christmas present, Aqua Terra 150m:but browsing the net, I saw what appears to be the same watch on a different strap:on this website which is in German. Google doesn't translate very well. Any ideas where this strap might be available? I'm loving the brown leather strap now, but you never know when you might want to switch things up.L
clasp to replace tang
Hi folks - I'm interested in obtaining a patek yellow gold deployment clasp for my 2006 5127j; it's currently on a tang buckle. I think the clasp would dress it up a bit. Is this something that can be ordered through an AD, and/or is there an after-market for this sort of thing? I've seen a couple on ebay, but I'm not a big fan of ebay for authentic items in general. I've seen too many fake rolexes in the watch-out forum. Any help is appreciated. thanks. andy
5208P,5250 AR, 5712- WOW! Talking watches
Blown away by this Patek collection. One of the best collections I've seen on talking watches. Well rounded and that 5208P , just wow! https://youtu.be/tjylr-KEMG8Interesting to see what a well worn 5712 looks like! serious respect for this guy. Not many people talk about the JLC 101 - this guy really knows how to appreciate horology.
Patek Case Refurbishing
Hello,I see that when you send a watch into Patek for servicing they offer 'case refurbishing' for a pretty reasonable additional fee. Can anyone tell me to what extent they will clean up a fairly deep ding in a stainless case as part of this service or would that be considered additional work. I would also be curious if the perceived value of the watch would be lowered after a case refurbishing (in a similar way that an unpolished watch is worth more in the resale market). Thanks
