Greubel Forsey Opens New Manufacture
Greubel Forsey has consolidated its activities within new headquarters and workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The dedicated building, located close to the Eplatures airport, is the new to home to the four companies created by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, and jointly run by the two founders along with CEO Emmanuel Vuille: Greubel Forsey, CompliTime, CT Design and CT Time. Over one hundred people will move to the new location from the Ancien Mange and other sites where Greubel Forsey started. The new workshops are composed of two distinctive buildings: the first is a 17th century farmhouse renovated by Mr. Gilles Tissot, an expert in the renovation of Neuchatel-style historical buildings. It will serve as a reception area, and it also houses the Unique Timepieces workshop – a showcase for the brand's creativity. The renovation work preserved several key features including the shingle roof, external walls and foundations. Visitors can admire the building’s decorative aspec

Rolex guys opinion on Breitling Navitimer.
Hi Guys,I know there's a Breitling section on the forum but since I want to hear the Rolex guys opinion I think this is the right section for this thread.I'm not a fan of Breitling in general but I do like the Navitimer 01, I know Breitlings resale is bad and that they can be had with good discounts,A good friend that works at an AD is offering me 3 different Breitlings models at 50% off retail, actually about 45% because it's a 50% of the price of the head plus the strap I choose at retail, and one of the models is the Navitimer 01.What do you guys think is a 50% off a brand new Navitimer a good deal?, the model they have on sale is the 43mm the 46 is not on sale. How's the quality of the Breitlings deployment buckle ?I have both options , deployment or tang on both calf and Croc, the calf with tang being the cheapest.TIA.
The want/need for the new
So with all this talk of Basel coming up (which is all new to me btw, I hadn't even heard of Basel until about Sept last year) it got me thinking about how so many of us, the watch buying public have the need to get hold of the latest item.I'm equally guilty, I get the feeling after buying a new car last year, only to find out there will be a replacement launched in a few months. Now it's an awesome car, almost faultless and really makes me feel special, and satisfied my needs - until the news of a new one came out. Where does this come from? Is it a generational thing? I'm 30yrs old.How I linked this to watches, specifically Rolex, was the thought that before access to the Internet was like it is today, did regular guys like me not get to know about the new latest Rolex, and was therefore more likely to keep it for a much longer time? Is the thought of holding onto something special because you worked hard for it dying away? I look at vintage Rolex that are simply beautiful, and altho
