Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon Technique Black
If there is anything that this industry has done to me, it is to give me an incredibly skewed perception of wealth. I've lately realized that I have a very poor notion of "affordable" and "normal." When you notice that an entry level mechanical timepiece that you'd hesitantly give to your father hoping he wouldn't think it is too simple can cost $2,000, you probably know what I am talking about. In the scheme of buying products, $2,000 is expensive, and this version of the Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon is so many more times that in price.Greubel Forsey produces many watches that are a close neighbor to $1 million, proving themselves to be harsh mistresses. As unattainable as she is in this shiny black dress, this black titanium piece of horologia did steal my heart when spending just a few romantic moments together at SIHH 2013. Is it but a mere horological flirt? Perhaps my tastebuds should have never been exposed to this type of rich flavor? Am I doomed forever to see anything but
Casio Raises The Bar Again With Tough Recalibrating Radio Controlled Movement Using LED Precision System
Never say that there is something wrong with the watches coming from Japan. There may be a ton of them, lots of them may be ugly or forgettable, but most of today's useful watch innovation is coming from the land of the rising sun, not Europe. While the Swiss and Germans are focused on perfecting the past, the Japanese are hard at work figuring out the next way to not only improve, but lower the cost of technically superior watches. While the Japanese cannot beat the Europeans when it comes to style, grace, and refinement, they do beat them when it comes to innovation. And trust me, the European watch makers are always taking a close look at what new things are coming out of Japan, even if it does not appear as such. For instance, Casio was one of the first to use DLC (diamond like carbon) coating on their MR-G line of watches. The ultra hard shiny compound found its way on super rugged Casio watches. A few years later, some of the most expensive of Swiss watch brands are proudly displa
Well, 44Ti just stopped winding
Not sure what's going on; but the 44ti now wouldn't wind. It's dead unless i rotate the rotor manually. I noticed things went south when i kept the chronograph running for a few hours. It lost power immediately and then stopped.44CE with stains, and now 44Ti that doesn't wind. Maybe the girl is right after all.
Advice Needed - 5164 / 67 x 5711
Hello All,Hope everyone is enjoying summer! To summarize what I'll explain below - I don't know which one to get!!! I do have what I feel are legitimate concerns though, and would love some advice from those who may have these ref's themselves. I had a very nice experience at the Beverly Hills AD today, got to handle the 64 / 67 and 5711. That being said, my concerns on the Aquanaut line were not thoroughly eased by the salesperson. I didn't get the answers I was looking for - so I turn to all of you. Let me start by saying I know I want an ' Everyday Beater ' for lack of a better term. Something I can wear while running, swimming, biking etc. ( I don't baby my watches, they get worn - SkyDwellers come along paddle boarding, Subs go to the gym and Daytonas go to the track, etc )I love the Aquanaut, I'm pretty sold on it, theres the slightest chance of going 5711 but who knows - regardless, I'm a bit concerned that they can't stand up to the rigors of a active daily routine. Now, I did
16622 & 116509
Does any WIS who has the early 16622 YM (platinum dial & bezel), also lust after the silver dial panda 116509 on a WG bracelet? They are both fairly monotone but rich in other ways.Personally, I feel the addition of a black cerachrom bezel in the future will lessen the impact.Regards
