Movado Issues “Bold” Watch Commemorating Derek Jeter’s 3000th Hit
Movado has launched a special edition Bold watch to celebrate baseball superstar and Movado brand ambassador Derek Jeter’s 3000th Major League hit on July 9. Jeter is the first Yankee to achieve this feat. The watch features an indigo blue metallic dial customized with Jeter’s number 2 positioned prominently at 2 o’clock. This special edition watch uses the new Movado Bold bracelet. The caseback is engraved to commemorate Jeter’s 3000th hit. Only 300 pieces have been issued. Packaged in a special sleeve accompanied by a thank you note from Derek, each will retail for $550. Movado will donate $100 for each piece sold to Derek Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation.“We are extremely proud of our long standing partnership with Derek Jeter and the Turn 2 Foundation,” said Mary Leach, Chief Marketing Officer, Movado Group, Inc. “It is such an honor to be a part of this historic occasion, and we are very excited to introduce this special edition Movado Bold
Introducing: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin Openworked, Now In Yellow Gold
Back at SIHH 2012, Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin Openworked in platinum. This watch was an instant high-end hit and people (especially people here at HODINKEE) loved it. So you can imagine our excitement to see that AP has re-released the Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin, now in yellow gold. 1 OF 2 As you may know, Audemars Piguet is known for their openworked watches and the great amount of craftsmanship that goes into each piece is incredible. The first skeletonized AP was created around 1921 (a pocket watch with skeletonized dial) and the first skeletonized Royal Oak was made in 1986 (1993 for the first skeletonized women’s Royal Oak), so they have had plenty of time to perfect the technique. ADVERTISEMENT Just like the original Extra-Thin Tourbillon Openworked, the caliber 2924 movement (which was brand new back in 2012, celebrating 40 years of Royal Oak) is used in the new yellow-gold piece. Help finding a new SubC -116610LN
Here is a little bit of the story. So I own a Y serial purchased new in 2003 in my collection. It has a little family history behind it through the years. I wear it quite a bit in the rotation. I always said that when my boys graduate from college they would get a watch handed down. Well my first boy is going to graduate next year with his engineering degree from SDSU. I will be giving him my Sub. I would like to replace that sub with another in the most current version.Fast forward to the last few weeks and I am surprised to see the lack of availability on the standard sub. I get and follow all the fuss with hulk (own one), BLNR, Daytona etc etc. I called up my AD that I use and no luck. She does not have one. Then I started looking at lightly used or second hand BNIB and see the grays are almost at new retails. For that price difference I would go AD all the way.So is a SubC really that hard to find? or is my AD just not a high enough volume dealer to have one?Lastly, if an

I'll stick to these classics. Best bang for the Buck without a doubt. They are priced right and available.
Rolex AD Robbed Of It's Entire Inventory
This is my local AD right outside of Buffalo, NY. I've been a customer there for 30 years and I know several of the employees personally. (WIVB) ?On Friday night, Amherst police say four men went to the Reeds Jewelers on Maple Rd. and took all the Rolex watches.Police say the men, who were wearing ski masks, smashed glass cases with sledgehammers during the incident.Customers and workers were there at the time, but no one was threatened or hurt, police say. Staff members were able to get everyone into a back room. The men left in a red van with no license plates. One of the watches was later found in the parking lot of a nearby motel, police say. The watch had a GPS in it.Surveillance video is helping authorities in their investigation.Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
