The Clerc Hydroscaph H1 Watch Now On A Bracelet
Clerc?just recently released a new version of their excellent entry-level Hydroscaph H1 chronometer diver (you can see our review here). ?So what makes this model noteworthy? ?Primarily, it's the bracelet, which is something we've not seen on the the line before. From what I've been able to ascertain, the bracelet continues on with the same focus on comfort, courtesy the articulating lugs. I personally like how it seems to carry on both the brushed finishes, as well as the bevels, that we see in the top bezel (and, for that matter, the indices on the dial as well). While the bracelet will likely serve to enhance the boldness of the piece (read: ?a big watch just got a bit bigger), the lines of the bracelet look to be a perfect complement to the overall looks of the Hydroscaph. This new edition also tones things down a bit on the dial front, with more of a midnight blue taking center stage , with a lighter blue minute hand paired to a grey hour hand. ?This may not necessarily be of benefit
Rolex Official Formula 1 Racing Timekeeper, Replacing Hublot
Big news in the watch world today as Rolex has been announced as the long-term Official Formula 1 Racing Timekeeper, effective as of the 2013 season. Being both the Official Formula 1 Racing Timekeeper and Official Timepieces of Formula 1 is no small achievement and the role had previously been occupied by brands like Jacques LeMans, Tag Heuer, and most recently Hublot. Being THE watch brand for Formula 1 is a big deal for a number of reasons, most notably the considerable audience attracted by F1. Formula 1 has a global viewership of over 500 million fans, making it one of the most watched sports in the entire world. Combine that audience with branding that is hinged on prestige, innovation, cutting edge technologies, and sporting elements such as team rivalries, big egos, and highly competitive top tier driving and you have an ecosystem that is an ideal platform for promoting a luxury watch brand.Rolex is an interesting choice as their connection to racing, technology and luxury is e
Weekend Report: MotoGP Motorcyle Racing At Indianapolis With TISSOT
"Take these earplugs, you'll need 'em." a Tissot rep tells me as we head trackside at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also known as the Brickyard. The high-pitched sound we're approaching is coming from the 1000cc engines warming up inside of MotoGP race bikes. They're about to head out for a Saturday morning practice session - an important process that allows for suspension tweaks and proper tire selection - before afternoon qualification begins to decide starting grid position. The bikes begin to head onto track, as they scream by at over 200mph, I put the earplugs in. MotoGP is an international sport, boasting riders from many nationalities and tracks the world over. The sport's inaugural season in 1949 saw the likes of Mondial, Moto Guzzi and MV Agusta competing for constructors' championships. A far cry from the bikes seen today, built by brands like Honda, Yamaha and Ducati. These bikes are purpose built race machines, very much unlike what you
Seamaster 300 Vintage
I came across this watch for sale. I don't have any experience with these Omegas other than I have wanted one for some time. Any knowledgeable responses positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. Hands and lume plots still fire but not the bezel. Back case was ground down by previous owner years ago still some detail visible. I presume red second hand not original? Any thoughts?
InCAMing
I posted this at P, but I must post this incoming here too. Hope it's not too frowned upon and I swear it stops here! A few weeks ago I had an incoming of a DSOTM after debating between that new beauty and the beauty that had held my gaze longer. And though the DSOTM is still a piece I'd love to own and keep, the time wasn't now. So I made a deal for a freshly serviced 233! I always looked at this piece as my Panerai grail. The domed crystal, power reserve, and the dial distortion i found irresistible. Long story short, this has been my dream PAM for a long time. I still can't believe I finally own one. Thanks to everyone in my last thread regarding this decision. This one is a keeper and it feels soooo good to have that itch finally scratched. On to the wrist shots!
