Buying New 5205R - Discount & Depreciation?
Hi there. I really love the 5205R-010 (the black dial version). Normally I buy watches pre-owned or on the 'grey' market to get a good 20%+ off RRP. However with the 5205R-010 there is very little supply, so buying new from an AD seems to be the only real way to get one at the moment.I am in the UK and just wanted to see if anyone had any idea of how much a regular AD might look to discount the watch by (if at all) from the list price. Also, buying a PP 5205R new from the AD... dare I ask what sort of depreciation hit is taken when walking out of the store and trying to sell back to the trade?Thanks for any info on this specific model or in general, I'd love to go ahead and get one, but would like to go in with my eyes open, understanding how much buying new from an AD is going to end up costing me.

Just a quick and dirty pic of my recent purchase with which I am truly thrilled and still now cannot believe I own. It is such a beautiful and elegant piece, it's impact being felt so much more in the flesh than in pictures for which it still looks pretty good! I know there's been quite a lot discussion lately about the 5170G and comparison made with the 5070 (which I also considered), but for me this watch is the perfect size on the wrist, the 5070 being just a little too large imo, something potential buyers should really consider if you too like me might be considering both watches.I would like to thank our resident forum member Ken for some really good advice prior to purchase, cheers again![i78.photobucket/albums/j1...psevsj12gi.jpg
Debating Nautilus vs Aquanaut As Daily
I have a Nautilus and wear it nearly every day. It's a discontinued Comet 3710ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364703810.550203.jpgThere is so much love for the 5167 Aquanaut on the forum. I've been wondering...Is the Aquanaut better suited as a daily wearer than a (my) Nautilus? It seems more tool-like and less elegant than the Nautilus, and I don't mean this in a bad way. Quite the opposite when considering a daily wearer!Has anyone gone from a Nautilus as a daily timepiece to an Aquanaut, and not regretted it?BTW, I'm still saving for my 5980 grail, and just realized I'm closer than I thought. I remembered I have a collectible fountain pen I can sell! But that's a story for another time (and forum!)Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions...
