Da Vindice Tourbillon Barometer Weather Station Watch
I think there must be something in the water in Switzerland. How else could you explain the multitude of, well, non-traditional complications getting placed into mechanical watches lately? While I hadn't heard of Da Vindice previously, their latest model certainly made me take notice. They've taken something that I've only previously seen implemented in fully digital outdoors watches (ie, the Casio ProTrek line) and paired it with a, dare I say, whimsical tourbillon implementation. The function in question is a barometer and it is part of the 2014 Da Vindice Tourbillon Barometer timepiece. This is very similar in concept to the Breva Genie 01 watch from 2013 (hands-on here). Three On Three: Comparing In-House, Manually-Wound Dress Watches Under $20,000
Welcome to Three On Three. It's one thing for us to give you an in-depth look at a single watch, to wear it and review it, on its own. But there are always options out there. With Three On Three we select a category, choose three watches that represent competitive takes on a theme, and compare them head-to-head. To kick things off, we went with a basic in any man's watch wardrobe, the manually-wound dress watch. Of course we had to get a little more selective, so we've picked three that all feature in-house movements for under $20,000: A. Lange & Söhne's Saxonia in pink gold, F.P. Journe's Chronomètre Bleu, and Vacheron Constantin's Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds in pink gold. All three are seriously impressive entry points into true high-end watchmaking and here Benjamin Clymer, Stephen Pulvirent, and Paul Boutros dissect them side-by-side. 1 OF 52 Let's start with the set-up. For someone looking to get into real in-hou
Finally broke it in...
In a rite of passage as old as time (or, in my case, as old as me), no watch is considered fully mine until it takes its inaugural dip in the pool.Like its brother before it......the FC Diver finally got wet! Before:After:Happy Summer, folks!Regards,Adam
