Welcome back to an watches-dealer original series, where we discuss important stores that sell watches all over the world. Each store we profile has an interesting story to tell about where they operate and who they sell to. Whether you buy watches from brick and mortar retailers or prefer to buy watches online, these are the stores that help shape our watch culture around the globe. There is a long list of stores to cover, but if there is a retail location in your favorite city that we simply can't miss, let us know in the comments below.Where to buy watches in Aspen, Colorado? You might expect a watch store which carries A.Lange & S?hne, Cartier, Harry Winston, Hermes, Hublot, IWC, Rolex, and Vacheron Constantin to be a stuffy place in a mega city. Yet, nestled in a Rocky Mountain valley (at almost 8,000 feet elevation), the town of Aspen is home to Meridian Jewelers, who pride themselves on their unpretentious, laid-back atmosphere. While less than 7,000 people call Aspen home, i
The New Royal Oak Line
Well it seems like the new royal oak line is out. It still is the same 2385 caliber. I thought there was likely going to be a new in house caliber announced this year. The metal color combinations are nice. Gold with blue dial is my favorite. i actually liked having the numerals at the seconds marker. I am disappointed those were removed. These are all novelty items as well so I guess that means boutique only. Comes with gold bracelet or strap. Also steel version... Any thoughts?
2201.51 PO vs Zenith Port Royal Elite?

A deal too good to pass up on a 17000 Oysterquartz
I had been researching Oysterquartz again after having owned one or two for a short time a few years ago. I flipped them both and made a few bucks, but recently was thinking it would be nice to have one again. Prices on listings in the FS section here were in the $3000 range and even higher on Ebay. I had tried to buy one in the FS section about a month ago, but in retrospect I am glad the deal fell through. The dial color was dark blue which I have found is difficult to read at a glance. Fast forward a few weeks.I managed to get my hand on a beautiful 17000 for way less ($2000), and with the dial that I was looking for...white roman. At that price, I couldn't say no. I am traveling to NY in 2 weeks and will have it inspected and have the battery changed at Rolex NY. I have already opened the caseback and inspected the movement...also saw at least 5 watchmaker marks on the caseback spanning the last 40 years. The serial dates the watch to 1978 so it is an early 17000. Tough to b
