RO chrono Or WG Sub
I have a special birthday coming up (30) and I'm looking for a timeless piece that will age well, the main contenders are the WG Sub and the Royal Oak Chrono 41mm steel 26320 with white dialI love both pieces and hope to one day own both - although for now I'm leaning towards the API have a few special pieces (ROO & RG SkyDweller) but I'm looking for something semi-discreet that can be worn in meetings. It must also be a piece that will not date as I will keep it foreverI have also considered the IWC Porto perpetual but it may be too similar a style of occasion watch to the SkyDAny help or thoughts would be appreciated!
First Breitling..Questions
I am looking at purchasing my first Breitling, I have multiple Rolex and Omegas but no Breitlings. Consequently I know squat about the models. I am looking for a daily wearer, stainless steel, date, around 40mm in size. A quartz model will do. I've been thinking about a Colt Quartz II, I think the model # was A74380. Is this a current model and what is its reputation. Any thoughts appreciated.
I sincerely hope that you are listening, Mr. Stern.
There are two things that I would love to see Patek do in the future that I feel would be not only be good for the brand itself but also for watch lovers in general. First, would be to release a non-limited edition of the new 5522 without the New York engraving. This would make a wonderful watch available those not fortunate enough to obtain one of the originals while in no way detracting from the value and exclusivity of the limited-edition. And secondly, to make a steel version of the 5524. This would bring both of the Calatrava Pilots within reach of a wider audience and would perhaps tempt me away, at least for a while, from my Rolexes. Let me know what you think of my modest proposal.
Is it worth buying OEM Patek Strap or trying other strap makers ?
I would like to replace the strap on my 5146R It has a deployment clasp. I think Camille Fournet is a good alternative? I am in Manhattan and see they have a shop at :Address: 509 Madison Ave # 510, New York, NY 10022Does anyone have experience with them? can i trust them to remove the pins and deployment in my Patek or should I buy a strap and take it to an AD? Also what color choices do you guys like with your rose gold pateks?
