finally got the call!
Hey guys,Many of you probably saw my thread last week about a second-hand 5712 with a scratched hour hand. I declined the watch. Much to my surprise, I got just the call that my brand new 5712 has arrived at my AD much sooner than expected!! I honestly thought I'd be waiting for another year or more, but I'm flying to Switzerland to pick it up on Friday! Pictures to follow this weekend!-Matt
5167a longer wait than 5711
I called my AD (UK)Im about 6 months into a12 month wait for a 5711When it occurred to me- that I do actually like the 5167a and it's 5000 less - so perhaps it's the path of least resistance both chronologically and financiallyBut they say - it's 2 years waiting time!! I was shockedI'm off to Italy next month -where might be a good place to try ? Anyone know?!
5147g
Anyone got a 5147G? If so, what do you think of it? How blue is that blue enamel face? Is it dark blue or almost black (it looks almost black on the Patek web site)?Do you wear it daily or mostly as a dress watch for the evening?
VERSUS: Sea (Deepsea 116660) to Sky (Explorer 1016)
Fourth edition of the VERSUS post/picture. What is VERSUS? Well, I thought it would be fun to compare two watches (and only those two watches) and discuss pros/cons by outlining the differences and getting folks' ideas/thoughts/opinions on TRF. We got folks here that have been collecting and studying these things for decades all the way to those who are just starting to venture into the crazy world of Rolex (and everyone in between). Therefore, it would be fun and educational! For this edition, we have a watch famous for being in the depths of the ocean and a watch famous for reaching the highest peak in the world. A Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660 and a Explorer 1016.Some obvious things:Modern v. vintage44mm case v. 36 mm caseWhich do you prefer and why?Previous VERSUS:1. VERSUS: Submariner 1680 v. 166102.
