Watches NEWS
Found: One Of The First Self-Winding Chronographs, Ever
We all know that in 1969, Heuer launched three watches using their caliber 11, self-winding chronograph: the Carrera, Monaco, and Autavia. In the very earliest of advertisements for these advanced watches, they appeared with a few unique traits, and all lacked any model name on the dial. The thing is, Heuer enthusiasts never knew if these watches actually existed, if they were simple drawings for the sake of advertising, or if they were prototypes long since destroyed. Well, late last night, the Heuer nuts over at OnTheDash published a story about a collector who discovered the very watch you see to the right – arguably one of the first three self-winding chronographs made by Heuer, or anyone.Click through for the full story. 2 OF 2
Real or Not ???
I'm in a client based sales industry and a couple of my co-workers are familiar with my 'hobby' / addiction. As I was sitting at the office today, one of them walks up with a client and says Hey now that's a watch you should check out! pointing to time piece on the other's wrist. The wearer proceeds to proudly stick his wrist in my face and says How much would you pay for this ?? At this point I notice the following,:- 44 novelty gold case with ceramic bezel and ceramic flat pushers- WHITE tapisserie dial similar to the 44 steel BUT with gold finished baton markers ?!?!?- No sapphire see through back- H series case number on the rear at the 6 o'clock position of the case- 10/100 engraved on the rear at the 12 o'clock position- I engaged the chrono a couple of times and it just did not feel rightI have had numerous 44 novelty pieces and currently own the 44Ti (which I do not wear to the office) and while looking familiar there were just too many things about this piece that were VERY
Navitimer 47?
What do you guys think of it? Thinking about trading my Datora up for a 47.... I like the beefier size on my wrist (I'm 6'2, 8 wrist). But I'm not sure. My AD wants 6700 for it (roughly 10% off msrp). Is that decent or should I shoot for a better discount? On the other hand... also been considering a Cal 01. I'm on the fence.... I really don't want or need 2 Navitimers. What should I do/?
Omega Cufflinks
Hey guys,I just wanted to share something really cool with you guys. I took a trip to the NYC Omega store for fun on Saturday, and my fiancee surprised me with cufflinks for our wedding in June. She's the best. I just wanted to share the pics with you guys because they are so awesome.
