Sinn Model 1800 S Damaszener 100-Piece Limited Edition Watch In Damascus Steel
We have grown to like - well, love - Sinn for their consistently high quality, very technical watches like the EZM 10 (reviewed here) or the T1 and T2 Dive?watches. With the Sinn?Model 1800 S Damaszener, the brand further?strengthens?its?dressier?line of watches, while also adding a twist to it all with the use of damascus steel for the case, case back, and dial.Damascus steel (or Damaszener Stahl in German), is a material seldom encountered in wrist watches C and yet,?not unsurprisingly, Sinn still couldn't resist adding a twist to it nevertheless. For the Sinn Model 1800 S Damaszener, both the central, largest part of the case as well as the?dial have been cut from the same complete?block of steel, rather than from separate?pieces. This was done to allow?the unique light-dark-light pattern of damascus steel?to?seamlessly flow throughout the case and the dial. The dial also features thirteen applied indices which, along with the long, lumed hour and minute hands, should provide ample
Could anyone please tell me which model this is?
Hello,I'm interested in buying this Audemars Piguet: https://.chrono24/en/audemars...-id3170279.htmI have not found any other information about this watch on the internet.I am interested in this as a daily wear watch. This is my first Audemars purchase. I am new to high end quality watches. I have a small wrist, so the 31.5mm size is fine with me. I'll likely switch to a cognac alligator strap since this will be worn daily/casually and I tend to wear cognac colored accessories casually. Is the 2080 movement a very reliable movement?Any general information you think a newby like myself should have? I promise I will not be offended if you give me very basic information. Please don't assume I know anything. This watch will have a fresh service before sale.Thank you in advance for all replies.
GMT Bezel on an old Explorer II
I have an older model Rolex Explorer II that I want to put a black GMT bezel on. I've seen/heard it can be done from different sources on the net. But when I took my Explorer to a local watch shop, they told me my model explorer is one of only two years that this will not work on. I have the 16570. Anyone know if this is true or if the guy didn't know what he was doing? Or am I just wishful thinking? I'm kindof set on doing it if possible and disappointed if it can not be done with this model.
16710 crown with double dash??
Sorry if this has been asked and answered previously, but I can't find a thread link. I am looking at a 16710 W series and noticed that the crown has a double dash under the coronet. What does that signify as I thought there was only one dash to represent a twin-lock crown system?A friend thinks it might have something to do with the type of metal or it could be the lowest of the water proof ratings, eg: 2 dots is on the gmt's 3 dots is Subs and Seadwellers Appreciate someone helping me clarify this.
Vintage Rolex service
Would appreciate opinions. I have an early 1680 gold sub with early style raised crown on band. I wear it regularly, 5-10 days monthly. Serviced 7-8 years ago in NY at Rolex. At that time they suggested some work on the band that I deferred. About 20 years ago a rivet came out while wearing immediately after service. Luckily, the watch didn't fall but was sent back to NY to repair. Now they are telling me the band needs some overhaul, more than just polish, but I hate to loose a good deal of gold with major work and subsequent polish. As it's becoming highly collectible what should I do? Thank you.
