Carl F. Bucherer and Rolex Open Boutique at Zurich Airport
Carl F. Bucherer has opened a new boutique in the Zurich, Switzerland airport. The boutique is the first of its kind, offering Carl F. Bucherer timepieces and jewelry, and an extensive collection of Rolex watches. This marks the first time the two Swiss brands have come together to collectively showcase some of their finest and most creative designs. Carl F. Bucherer and Rolex watches will be displayed in their respective Shop-in-Shop concepts, using their corporate architecture. Carl F. Bucherer believes that exposure in a location that is heavily trafficked by international travelers will boost brand awareness around the globe. The store is located on level 1 of Zurich Airport's Airside Center.
Disney's Tick Tock Tale Short Film
Thanks to a Facebook friend I was able to learn about this new animated short film from Disney Animation called Tick Tock Tale. It is one of those shorter cartoons that will play before a feature length movie - just like Pixar (also owned by Disney does). I am excited about this for a few reasons. One, I love to see pop-culture fascination with timepieces, and two, it is actually animation by Disney again! About a decade ago I heard news that Disney vowed to only do computer animation moving forward. Which in my mind basically was a deathblow for traditional animation. Animation would get simpler, cheaper, and the lush scenery and production values we know from mid 20ths century Disney stuff would die.Disney was more or less dead for a long time in the animation department. Instead relying on Pixar to create new content, and itself only banking on existing characters. Maybe that will chance. I am happy to see that a department called "Disney Animation" even exists! Not sure when Tick To
Show me your Blue Dial DJ41
On the fence and looking to pick up a blue dial DJ41. Not sure if I want jubilee with smooth bezel or smooth w/ oyster.
228239 White Dial
I'm a sucker for the Roman numeral dials. I've seen tons for DD40 offered for sale here with the blue dials and the anniversary green dials, but I don't think I've seen a WG white dial Roman offered. Is it not a popular watch or just the opposite? I'm thinking of adding that as my next piece if I can find it for the right price. On that note, what are your thoughts on a DJ 41 being offered with the white dial Romans? I saw that they added the slate dial green Romans in SS. Fingers are crossed they add the white Roman to the DJ41 lineup.
Considering my second...maybe third?
Long post short:Should I buy one wonder PM to compliment my SS Daytona, or should I create my choice SS trio? I have been a one watch man for 3 wonderful years. I have been ravenously into TRF since I bought my watch in 2014. Since that day, I have built a healthy obsession with mine and all mechanical watches. The silver lining to my 2017 cloud is shining brightly, and I will be in a position to buy a new watch!I have already gotten some great feedback on potential choices across the entire range. Thanks to Chadri and many others for your insights(and previous similar posts)! Now I am considering a slightly different strategy...so here's my Poll.Firstly, I will not be selling my 116520. Initially I considered going for a second watch in the PM range that way I've got polar opposites that can go super comfy and super classic. THEN I thought about all of the SS models I've enjoyed lusting over the last three years(when I didn't think I could afford PM), and I thought about going for a d
