It's Karl Time! Lagerfeld's New Watch Collection By Fossil
Fossil may just be trying to recreate the magic it experienced with its Michael Kors relationship in producing their watches. Back in November I helped debut Karl Lagerfeld's new quirky collection of fashion-forward timepieces here on Departures. Back then we were given a mere glimpse of the new collection, but the message was clearthe typically high-end Lagerfeld brand was going mass-market with its timepiece collection. A tactic employed by many fashion brands when entering the timepiece field, but the opinion on whether to go high or low remains divided.Emporio Armani went low-end, also using Fossil as a manufacturer for its watches. Ralph Lauren went decidedly high-end. And from Burberry to Ermenegildo Zegna, to many more, you'll find everything in between. It brings up the interesting question of how a high-end clothing maker could or should enter the world of watches. To people like me, buying a watch from a fashion label should be an "honest" experience. The timepiece should be
Diver 15710
About ready to take the plunge later this year and buy the 15710 from my local AD and i could do with you guys to help tip me over the edge. Would love to know your thoughts on the Diver and if you have/had one what its like for a daily and all the pros and cons. Please do feel free to throw some pictures below too!
SIHH is almost here: What would you like to get from AP?
I kinda stole this idea from another watch forum, but hopefully the guys there wouldn't mind. So, what watches do you like AP to roll out in a few weeks from now?My wishes for the upcoming SIHH:1) RO 15202 in white gold or platinum, on bracelet. Would make an awesome grail piece, although the price may be excessive and unreachable for me in the next 1 or 2 decades :( 2) Titanium Royal Oak with a ceramic bezel, on a rubber strap, preferably in the 37-39mm range. I see 1% chance, it would be too close in many ways to the Offshore range. 3) Same as #2, but in full ceramic, on rubber strap. I see a bit higher chance to see this sometime in the future. 4) A smaller Offshore Diver, somewhere around 37 to 40mm. Just please-please don't market it as a ladies' diver, that would kill it for slim wrist men like me :)) 5) Royal Oak Annual Calendar 6) Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, preferably on a bracelet, with steel case as the base model. It would be an awesome choice for guys who'd li
Why get an Omega if you can Afford a Rolex..
My friend asked me this question.I have been looking to get an Omega Aqua Terra Blue dial, but another watch keeps coming in the way. I am very biased towards the color Blue. I love any blue dial watch, but unfortunately not a fan of two tone, so the sub doesn't do it. The WG sub is just too expensive.Fast forward after Basel and now the new 39mm OP blue dial has my vote. I don't know if the green markings are amazing, but I know I love a blue dial.Anyway so I did not know what to tell my friend when he asked me why I would get an Omega if I could afford a Rolex.. LolNot talking about Sea masters, etc. just the classic Aqua Terra VS the DJ or OP.
Incoming: Tudor Heritage Black Bay
Following an enjoyable train trip into Melbourne yesterday, I immediately headed into Collins Street where I picked up my new Tudor Heritage Black Bay. I've not owned a Tudor before but love it so far. It is heavier than my other older watch, but I'm pretty sure I will soon get used to wearing it. Also wanted to say how much I enjoy this forum and in particular appreciate members posts.
