Cartier Presents Six New Models For SIHH 2016, With Live Pics
It's December already (already!) and you know what that means: pre-SIHH announcements for watches that will officially debut next month in Geneva are already coming in. This one's a big one: six new models from Cartier (and believe us when we tell you this is just the tip of the iceberg.) Without further ado, let's get this show on the road. Cl De Cartier Automatic Skeleton 1 OF 21 First up, we have a fully skeletonized version of the Clé de Cartier, which was first introduced by Cartier last year, and whose distinguishing features are a new case shape for Cartier, as well as the "key" (clé in French) winding crown, which is fitted with a self-centering mechanism that automatically puts the crown in line with the flank of the case when you've released it. 2 OF 21 The movement is the in-house Cartier caliber 9621 MC, with a 22k gold rotor, and a 41mm x 11.45mm case in palladium. The Value Proposition: The Amazing, Incredible, And Semi-Affordable, Atmos Clock From Jaeger-LeCoult
As the current new guy at HODINKEE, it gives me no small pleasure to introduce – I should say, re-introduce – an old reader favorite: The Value Proposition. It’s been on hiatus for some time but you’ve asked us repeatedly to bring it back, and we listened. In Value Proposition we bring you a look at some of horology’s biggest and best bang-for-the-buck – timepieces that, in a world where price increases have for over a decade shut more and more out of enjoying mechanical horology, really over deliver in the value department. In general this means things in the under $10,000 category but at the same time, you might see us occasionally cover something like, say, a $15,000 minute repeater that sounds as nice as a $300,000 chiming complication, which seems unlikely, but hey, if it exists, you’ll read about it here first.Today, let’s talk about the Atmos clock, from Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Atmos is nothing more nor less than one of the absolute c
Is this still available ?
I came across a navitimer 01 LE about 8 months ago and I passed on it ( mistake ) I have not seen one for sale after that ( new or pre owned) I love the clear back, black with silver sub dials, the white gold wing and red touches. If you have seen one or know more info please let me know. Thanks !
Finally the Hirsch curved end leather straps arrived.
Improviz the hirsch straps look very nice. it arrived today i will get it fitted tommorrow. I had a question. The Hirsch straps i bought ( i bought 2 , black and dark brown) are 22mm leonardo principle range. They came with the spring pins included. But I was surprised how small they are. Barely sticking out of the sides when placed inside the strap. I was wondering are they really this small ? I have attached photos. If anyone else have bought hirsch 22mm straps for their PO's have a look. does the spring pins look big enough ?
5167 or 5522
I want to make this simple. My AD has given me the opportunity to purchase one of his 5522 alotmnets. Should I go for it, given that I would have to sell my 5167 to fund the purchase? I love the pictures of the 5522, but worry about the lack of date.
