Official 24: Live Another Day Wrist Watch From Show Will Be Available Soon
This isn't just the official timepiece for 24: Live Another Day, but a watch that will be featured in the show, as well as one that people will be able to buy starting in the summer of 2014. What makes the 24: Live Another Day CTU watch interesting is that Fox Studios commissioned a totally original item and it isn't from a major brand. This makes a lot of sense for a television series so involved in tracking time, and it is cool to see the producers engage in such efforts. In fact, if you haven't watched 24 before, you should know that each season is designed to more or less track the events of a single day in real-time.24: Live Another Day will debut tomorrow May 5, 2014 on FOX and is technically the 9th or 10th season of the show, even though it comes after season 8 and is not considered a season with a numerical value. There are eight official seasons of the show starting in 2001 as well as 24: Redemption from 2008 and 24: Live Another Day from 2014 that comes four years after seas
Initial Impressions: Riedenschild Swihanic 2
*Check out our full review of the Riedenschild Swihanic here.?Let me start by saying that this was one of my more impulsive purchases to date, but one that I absolutely do not regret. So I was doing my usual browsing of the forums, looking for good deals and interesting watches to discuss, when I came across the Riedenschild Swihanic II. What on Earth is this? I thought Never heard of the brand, no idea what "Swihanic" means, but the look of the watch called out to me. It had a white face with a silver seconds dial that is positioned at 5 o'clock, two big crowns, and an internal bezel for a second time-zone. Certainly, for about $275 (new) it was worth a deeper look. When I saw that it featured a decorated hand-wound movement, called the GeMatic 0788 (which turns out to be a Unitas base) and had a domed sapphire crystal, I was sold. I knew this was a watch for worn&wound, since it combined a unique style with seemingly high quality components and a great price. After a quick and v
Self regulation by case position?
Can Omega movements be Self-regulated like Rolex movements?for example, leaving the watch flat with the dial up gains seconds, leaving the watch on it's side crown up, looses seconds.my 1120 Omega is loosing 6-10 seconds per day (going in for service), but the flat, dial up position overnight didn't seem to help much.any experience with this?
Less is more
I know it's the base end of panerai but for me it's perfect
Anyone heard of NJ Time in Ginza, Tokyo
Stumbled across a vintage watch shop in Ginza called NJ Time during my watch hunting that wasn't already on my research list. They had lots of vintage pieces (1675, 1019, 16750, 6263, 1665, 1680 etc) but wondering if anyone has experience with them.
