F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain With Constant Force Escapement And Dead Seconds Available On James List
This is a hell of a F.P. Journe watch from about 2004-2005 and really resonates with me because it epitomizes what I like in the brand. Some of their other watches just feel like too little for too much, but this Tourbillon Souverain came out when the brand was smoking hot, and everyone was paying attention. An earlier F.P. Journe's Tourbillon Souverain was released before this model, but this watch added a lot to the timepiece and refined the looks of the face. Aside from looking cool, this timepiece has a ton of interesting things going on inside. For one thing, you have a very clean exhibition of the tourbillon on the dial instead of looking through to your wrist between sandwiches of sapphire crystal, you see the tourbillon escapement on a plate of gold with perlage polishing. Classy and sensible. Then you have the watch dial that is smaller and off centered and a subsidiary "dead seconds" (I will get to that in a bit). Don't miss the power reserve indicator as well. Anstead Oceanis Review
Back in September, we introduced you to the Anstead Oceanis, a Kickstarter watch project that managed to stick out from the crowd for being, well, traditional. Unlike nearly every other Kickstarter watch that has gained considerable attention, the Oceanis was developed with traditional watch enthusiasts in mind. It shares a strong military aesthetic, is designed with practicality and versatility in mind and manages to squeeze in some quality components like sapphire crystal,?Super-LumiNova and a Seiko automatic movement, all for $399. We were really excited to receive an Oceanis for review a few weeks ago, and to discover just how successfully Anstead has turned its Kickstarter project into a reality.Case: SteelMovement:?Seiko NH36a automatic with 24 jewels at 21,600 bphDial: BlackLume: Super-LumiNovaLens: Sapphire with antireflective coatingStrap: Leather, SiliconeWater Res.: 300mDimensions: 44 x 51mmThickness: 14.3 mmLug Width: 22 mmCrown: 7 x 5 mm screw downWarranty: 1 yrPrice: $399

Whats your current opinion on The Rolex Way?
How do you guys feel now about The Rolex Way regarding SS sport models availability, waiting lists, inability to purchase a popular Rolex model for years, price, etc? I'm not bashing Rolex, I've been a proud owner for 16 years, I don't question what the Rolex brand stands for but I do question their recent business model and the treatment of it's core customer base.
Winding Rolex
Hi Guys, I recently got a new Rolex. aD wound it for me while I was at the store. A month later it stopped after me not wearing it for a day. So I gave it like 40 turns and it was up and running again. I took it off and went to bed. The next day I woke up and I saw it has stopped again. Around 30 minutes after I took it off. I wind it up again and it did the same thing the next day. I took it back to the AD and it is now being sent back to the RSC to have them look at. AD told me I should never wind my watch ever even if it stops since many people break their watch by doing that. AD told me to just wear it for awhile and it will run without winding. Said I might have break the watch by over winding. Not sure if I buy that since I read on here there's a locking mechanism that prevents the watch from overwinding. Is it possible I am not giving the watch enough wind by not moving around enough while wearing it. Thanks !
