A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater Watch
Every year, A. Lange & S?hne presents one mega important watch and this year's hero piece is arguably the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater. The original Zeitwerk watch was first released in 2009 and is today still the brand's?most unique?and distinctive piece. You see, most of A. Lange & S?hne watches, such as the Datograph, Saxonia, and Lange 1 are all arguably classically designed, and?the A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk is unusual because it displays the time digitally. The only thing traditional about it is its case design, with the subsidiary seconds dial and the power reserve indicator at 6 and 12 o'clock respectively. Even the movement, though decorated classically, is a tour de force in haute horology, featuring many innovations including a patented jumping hour mechanism.Since 2009, there have been many A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk models. And in 2011, A. Lange & S?hne followed up with the Zeitwerk Striking Time (hands-on here), which I believe was the company's first chimi
Talking Watches: With Brad Farmerie
Welcome to episode 18 of Talking Watches. Today we're sitting down with Brad Farmerie, the executive chef behind several of the hottest New York City eateries right now. After honing his craft in London in the 1990s, Farmerie returned to the U.S. in 2003 to open Public Restaurant, which would earn the coveted Michelin Star a handful of years later. In 2011, Saxon + Parole opened its doors, and it is here that we met to discuss his thoughtfully curated collection. This is Talking Watches with Brad Farmerie. 1 OF 26 Bell & Ross BR 03 2 OF 26 Farmerie's first mechanical watch was this Bell & Ross BR 03, which was a wedding gift from his wife. As you'll see throughout his collection, Farmerie's tastes clearly tend toward the tool/function end of the spectrum – and this 42 mm aviation-themed piece is no exception. 3 OF 264 OF 26 JS Watch Co. I went to the AD last night to trade my Daytona for a brand new RO 15400.For anyone in Dallas, I highly recommend going to Eiseman Jewels and talking with Mike or Kevin. They are both very knowledgeable, honest, and they don't pressure you to buy something. I received fantastic service from them, I'll for sure be buying my next watch there.I am having the watch shipped to where I am getting married next week, saves me the sales tax, so I don't have it on my wrist today. Here are some shots from the deal yesterday :They gave me some scotch to celebrate.uploadfromtaptalk1435933986774.jpgWhich was served in this. Interesting thing is that Rolex owns these glasses and could ask for them back at any time.uploadfromtaptalk1435934019712.jpgI asked for some SWAG, and got a very nice AP draw string bag, leather wallet, and hat.uploadfromtaptalk1435934111141.jpgAnd here is the watch sized. I'll take some more pics once I have it. It's a perfect fit. Lugs don't overhang on either side, and it jus
I chose an Omega over. . .
I went to get a Rolex GMT IIc and ended up coming home with an Omega Seamaster 300M GMT. Less than 1/3rd the price and, IMHO, a better looking watch. :)I also picked up a Tag for my wife and the overall wasn't even half the price of the Rolex. I already have a Sub so the Rolex itch has been scratched already (well, for now).Great watch, great service at my AD and I'm happy. Rock on!
Daytona Stopwatch Seconds Hand
New to the forum; just got a new to me Daytona...wondering, where do you all like to keep your stopwatch seconds hand? Thinking of keeping it at the 6 o'clock position, not to obstruct the symbol and watch description.
