IT'S OFFICIAL: Jean-Frederic Dufour Named CEO Of Rolex SA
This morning, rumors started flying that Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, will be taking the reins as global CEO of Rolex. Well, we confirmed the rumors with Rolex's Geneva office and they're entirely true! Dufour arrived at Zenith in 2009 after working at Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin, and a few other brands, and he is largely responsible for the direction in which Zenith has moved over the last half-decade. He will be the sixth CEO of Rolex (the fourth since 2008) and we are excited to see his impact on The Crown.This is the second huge move among top watch industry executives in as many months, with Jean-Claude Biver having been named head of watchmaking at LVMH effective March 1. Though terms and an official date are forthcoming, Dufour will replace current Rolex CEO Gian Riccardo Marini, who has served since 2011 after acting as director of Rolex Italy. Nice AD gave me some gifts
Hi allJust a story I wanted to share, I had a short break in York (UK) and in the hotel I was staying at they had the following book in my room...I was obviously very pleased about that! Turned out the same book is in every room (so it was not special treatment lol). So inside the book it had the name of the local AD and obviously I had to visit wearing my Breitling Colt!They are a lovely bunch and they could see my knowledge and enthusiasm for the brand (I flashed my Patek wallet lol). I told them about the book in the hotel and they obviously knew all about that. I asked if they had a spare copy of the book and they said yes and popped it in a nice bag for me. We carried on talking, I tried on the 5119r and showed pictures of my collection. Then a lady put a box on the table and said we want you to have this. A lovely Patek Philippe tie!! I was overwhelmed, I have bought nothing from them ever. They even invited me to their private party in November where they are going to have some

Something to behold, the Patek Minute Repeater + Tourbillon + Perpetual Calendar
I was fortunate to check out the recent auction pieces for the Upcoming Sothebys auction, so many unbelievable watches. Particularly all the minute repeaters, and to have an opportunity to try out so many different one from different brands was quite educational and exciting. As you may have guessed, the Patek was by far the best of the bunch.To have a chance to to hold, and examine a Patek 5016, Minute repeater, Tourbillon and Perpetual Calendar was unreal.Here a few pics of some that stood out (not all, sorry I don't take more pics), I was really impressed by the Girard Perregaux Minute repeater, gorgeous watch with an amazing sound, loved the dial, and the regulator was very quiet, a pet peeve of mine that really annoyed me how loud the regulator was on the Audemars Piguet and RGM.
