Time for Her: 7 Ladies’ Watches For Your Last-Minute Gift Consideration
It’s a few days before Mother’s Day and you still haven’t found the right gift for the woman who raised you? Read on. We offer a sampling of new women's watches to make your last-minute shopping a snap. The Dior VIII Grand Bal Fil de Soie has an 11 1?2-ligne automatic caliber that's inverted so that the rotor is on the dial. The rotor itself is highly unusual: the rose-gold oscillating weight is woven with a single 1.5-meter-long pink silk thread and set with diamonds. The dial is made of black mother-of-pearl. The 38-mm case is made of ceramic and rose gold with a diamond-set bezel. The watch has a 42-hour power reserve. It comes on a black patent-leather strap with a rose-gold buckle, also set with diamonds. $46,500.Dior VIII Grand Bal Fil de SoieChanel's Mademoiselle Priv collection features design motifs associated with Coco Chanel, like the camellia, on artisanal dials. Pre owned under warrenty question
Morning, I am the proud owner of a pre owned I series diver that I'm told is still under warranty. Watch was originally purchased in Sept of 2014. Am I as the second owner able to send the watch into APSC and have them pressure test it and be eligible for the additional year warranty. Not sure if original owner ever registered it with AP. Also any concerns I should be looking for. Love the watch, will share wrist time with my DSSD. I'm told it is a scratch magnet, so most likely worn when I can keep my watch senses on full alert.
It's a "manjewel"
When I start talking about my 5402 with folks - even watch guys (I've never actually met anyone in the flesh who could appreciate it) - I see a lot of smirks, a lot of eye rolling and a lot of impatient looks as I struggle for words.I usually end up somewhere between, It changes to way you look at watches,to, it completely recalibrates your conception of aesthetics. It's because the 5402 goes so far beyond what I knew a watch, indeed any tangible object, save one*, was capable of. What's the exception? I'll get there in a second...The complexity and detail of the case design. The richness of the dial. The perfection of the execution of the finish. You can keep throwing words out there, and they help, certainly, but they don't suffice. Indeed, even the best photographs - and I have seen some incredible ones - help one tremendously to understand the 5402 but even they don't quite suffice. The beauty of the 5402 cannot quite be captured in a photograph.Only when you hold it in your hands,
Please help me identify this watch.
Hi Guys just wondering if anyone can help with more info on this watch. History:It was given as a gift by my Grandfather (since passed away) to my twin brother in the early 70's whilst visiting in Greece. Peter has not worn the watch for over 20 years, it's been sitting in a drawer. He says it runs perfectly. It was last serviced by Omega in the 90's. I have discovered it is referred to a Soccer dial (apparently because of the 45 min sub-dial, because that is the time for each hasl of a soccer match?). The bezel is rotated by the crown at the 10 o'clock position. I am not sure what the numbers on the bexzel are meant to represent. I would also love to get an idea of it's value? It appears to be in very good condition, and Peter still has all receipts and papers. It has never been polished! Omega_II.jpgomega.jpg
