Showing at WatchTime IBG 2014: Harry Winston Project Z8
WatchTime and noted watch collector and expert Jeff Kingston have teamed up again for the 2014 edition of the popular Inside Basel.Geneva series of collector events, kicking off September 5 in Chicago. Among the core sponsoring watch brands is Harry Winston, which will showcase its innovative Harry Winston Project Z8 watch at the events. The Harry Winston Project Z8, part of the brand’s Ocean collection, is the latest model in the Project Z series, which showcases the use of Zalium, a zirconium-based alloy that is exclusive to Harry Winston. Zalium, which is used for the watch’s round, 44.2-mm-diameter case, is lighter and harder than titanium and extremely resistant to corrosion. Its matte, gunmetal gray color gives the Project Z8 a distinctive look among luxury sports watches. The watch is powered by an automatic-winding Dual Time movement, made exclusively for Harry Winston timepieces, which is designed to display the time in two different zones, one for local time and o
Concord C1 MecaTech Chronograph
The Concord C1 MecaTech chronograph presents a study in multi-level dial complexity. Every square millimeter offers a line, a texture, a non-traditional display, or a new elevation. The two-tone black PVD and rose gold case measuring 44mm x 16.7mm creates the impression of bank-vault security. A matte-black grid in the center of the dial provides the base for the arrow pointers that rest above the turning disks of the 30 minute and 12 hour counters. The COSC-certified ETA Valgranges chronograph movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The movement features a black rotor and C?tes de Genve decoration. The 25 jewel movement beats at 28,800 vph with a power reserve of 48 hours. The case is water resistant to 200 metersplete technical specifications appear below the images, which may be enlarged with a click. Bracelet and case polishing for speedy pro in Toronto?
heres the deal. I recently purchased a used moonwatch and my usual watchmaker opened it up and mechanicals are all in great condition. Previous owner didn't know service history as he was 2nd owner and only had the watch for about a year, so I was quite happy hearing this. Now being a 8-9 year old watch the bracelet needs a good polish as a couple of links look like they were perhaps introduced to the concrete pavement in a fall. So because I only want the bracelet polished anyone know a omega watchmaker in the greater Toronto area that can give the speedy bracelet a once over. Due to the mix of brush and polish on the bracelet I am guessing a special technique might be involved for those tiny strips of polished metal in the bracelet Thanks in advance
Anyone visit the Turks and Caicos AD: Jai's?
I'm in Turks and Caicos with the wife for a little vacation, and noticed there is an AD here by the name of Jai's. Will likely make it over there later this week, but curious if anyone here has visited them before and how their selection was.
A little consolidating and an incoming
I've always wanted a full PM piece so after a long while of debating, researching, trying on different options and some nice encouragement from my wife I consolidated two pieces and ended up with the following I'm over the moon with it and glad I went for the yellow gold. I debated forever between yellow gold and the white gold sub as I have never worn any yellow gold before and am typically very low key. The brushed surfaces give it a great look and my wife is very happy with my choice (she has a 116613lb as a gift from me that she wears daily). I've trimmed down to 2 watches now and I'm very happy with the results: this 116618lb and a Patek 5167a. The two watches are polar opposites and pretty much cover all the bases for me. Very happy to have joined this club. Now, onto more pictures of the watch and a bunch of others that I tried on in the process. And a tray full of gorgeous DD40's just because. Cheers!
