Botta Design Watches For Minimalist Perfection
Minimalism to me, means displaying as little as possible to be effective. A watch like the museum face on a Movado is barren. With just hands and a single indicator at the top, I never have any idea what time it is, at least not at a glance. There is no way to be really precise with such a watch. This is not minimalist in my opinion, it is lacking. Minimalistic watches on the other hand excel in providing just what you need, with the focus being on personifying the function of the device or machine. Botta watches provide exactly this type of focus, a watch purely telling the time.Botta Design Watches are designed using pure elements of minimalism and functional design. The appeal is in the symmetry and attention to just a few major lines and shapes to the watch. No complex transitioning or harsh contrasts, just a well thought out look that performs flawlessly. A watch face is supposed to measure the elapsation of time, along with providing an indicator of how much time is left in a giv
Another incoming thread...sort of
A new baby at home coupled with a busy work schedule really cuts down on Rolex Forum time...I know I owe Thomas (TSW) and Connor (Steelerfan65) some wrist shots, which I am terrible at by the way.I picked up my first AP (Diver) back in June. I was thrilled to be in the club.I've always had a weakness for white dial chronographs and I have tried on the Safari while in Vegas a couple of times - I just loved it. I never thought I would be able to add it this soon.So a few weeks back I was able to add the Safari...Thanks again to DavidSW for another wonderful piece! The bad news...heading back to Vegas shortly...looking to shop for something 44mm or finally get to try on the white 15400...wish me luck!
Mark on DSoTM date wheel..
Hey guys, wanted to get your input here.I purchased a brand new DSoTM with boxes/papers from a respected seller on here a few weeks ago. No issues with the watch, it's absolutely great. Today I was looking at the date and noticed this smudge(?) It's obviously magnified way up for this picture, but it's still *slightly* noticeable to the naked eye and kinda driving me crazy. I cycled through all the days and the 26th is the only one affected. Is this worth going to an AD about and possibly getting corrected or am I just being totally neurotic? Here's the link if the pic isn't showing upimgur/a/P2UYe
Snoopy Incoming Imminent
Got an email from my boutique yesterday. They still can't confirm when, but they confirmed for certain that I'll be getting the snoopy speedmaster. It is likely that I'll be waiting a few more months, but I'm not in a rush. The waiting is half the fun. I've already paid for this years LE Speedmaster so I'm excited to begin building a little collection of Basel release LE speedmasters. Likely I'll get these two right around the same time. I know it's blasphemy, but there is a part of me that just wants to collect them and keep them in stickers, in the box. Im daydreaming about building a nice display case in my home office and having them and a few stickered up older Rolex watches sit pretty. Then just watching this collection grow over the years.
